View Full Version : I'm a Bit Sad

I went in to CCF today, a long haul for me, and much to my chagrin, a new team has taken over CCF. I was told that Bryan was gone but "okay" and that the quality will be "staying as high" as before. But that simply cannot be correct. Unless B is their new in-house grower. Just as certain people can take ingredients and make a dish more than the ingredients should be able to add up to, that's what Bryan did with MJ.
This is a bummer. For nearly 10 years I waited to experience again what I had in Arizona back in 2001, and on Christmas day I found it. And now it's gone. Again :(
I don't know, and I'll probably never know why we lost Bryan, and it's none of my business, but I do know that I can no longer honestly say that I live 30 minutes from world class marijuana, simply the best I have ever had.
If you read this Bryan, please know that you made life a grander experience for some of us, and your passion and work will be sorely missed. Never stop doing what you do

Woah really? That's very strange and unfortunate. Hopefully Bryan checks in here and lets us know what's up. I know there will be a lot of disappointed customers. Hope all is well.

Wow that is really unfortunate if it's true! I enjoyed going in there and was looking forward to getting some feedback from Bryan on my warez... :(
Hopefully he'll still be able to get his work out to the people who enjoy it so much via a different avenue?!?!
So, is completely new owners/management?!?! Is Debbie still around?:abduct: I also called the other day and some really peppy new guy answered and he didn't seem too familiar with the strains... :tin foil hat:

I sure hope your confused, or misinformed. I drive WAY out of my way to see Bryan's wares. If he's not the man at CCF anymore. I may never go there again.
I've been out there many times, over the last many months, without seeing him too. I always enjoy seeing Debbie as well.
If it's new owners, and different growers, I'm not going back. Instead of a treat, they'll likely just have the same crap everyone has all the time.
OH do I hope your wrong:(

Damm....
I was wondering why Bryan has been so quiet the last few days. No menu updates or comments in a while.
Plus one on all the comments above.
I'll be keeping an eye out for words from Bryan and hoping it's good news.

Bryan had once mentioned to me that some new folks might be in the shop that he was working with. As far as I understood him, it would be more of a partnership than a new ownership. Lets hope I got it right!
I think once he realized how high demand was, it was hard to keep up the labor on the plants.... growing a lot of high quality medicine is some serious work. Not enough time to be in the shop to!
I'm sure he'll be around soon enough to shed some more light on it for us.

I hope so. I may have been confused (I hadn't smoked all day, so maybe so) but the way it sounded, Bryan was GONE.
Dude said that they'd be carrying, "the best stuff" and things of that nature, but the bottom line is that they will be buying from vendors that offer their gear every where else, so what's the diff? I'll put in a few extra minutes and take the beautiful drive to Ned. As compared to the NASTY drive down to Colfax, that's no problem, especially here in the warm weather.

This isn't speculation, because I have no idea what the deal at CCF is, but I know we've had a lot of people inquiring about a buyout of our shop. Opening a new dispensary isn't nearly as attractive as taking over a successful operation that already has a patient base. Hopefully this isn't the case, because most everything I've heard about Bryan and CCF has been glowing.

Crazy shit Steve-
I've had a feeling- I e-mailed Bryan last week- got nothing back. Typed on here to contact him and again didn't get anything back so I didn't go to him this past friday. I know I've been really bummed w/o going to CCF and reading all this- I'm bummed even more :(

Dropped in to CCF today. It was the same but different.
Bryan did indeed sell the business.
Best of luck in all your future endeavors my friend. You were exceptional at what you did
Larry, Patrick, and a gracious young lady (my apologies for forgetting your name, I blame the Blue Dream Wellness Wax) are now minding the counter. All treated me well and the level of service is excellent as usual.
No significant changes to the place, physically all was the same. That's good... I missed talking with Debbie though. We're of the same generation and shared a lot of life experiences. From the same geographic area, similar life views, had a few laughs remembering life back in the day. After shopping in dispensaries filled with folks decades younger then I, it was refreshing having a fellow seasoned friend behind the counter. (Seasoned, not senior)
I'll be back to CCF. As I see it the new owners deserve a chance to prove themselves. I'd be intimidated trying to fill Bryan's shoes.
That said....
I picked up hash today, Blue Dream Wellness Wax, that has me damm near comatose. Better then Bryan's Heidi Fliess hash. That's saying a lot.
Once I finish this post there's a bowl full of White Dreams waiting for me. Let ya know how it smokes tomorrow.

Well damn. I still have Bryan's Chunky Bubba Kush and Chem '91 to review as well as a Blue Dream and a Purple Rhino that I believe were vendor meds. But yeah, let's give the new owners a chance to show us what they've got before jumping to conclusions. Nice to hear about the hash quality, definitely let us know what you think of the other meds. I'll have to stop back in and see how it looks soon...

Well fellas....the news is true. As much as I dont want to admit it, I no longer am the owner of CCF. It has been a great experience and I extremely enjoyed my time with all of you. The new owners (as corny as they may be...) are good people and I feel you will all receive the same level of friendliness you did as when I ran the shop. As many of you know my passion is pot, not profits. So with that I will be in the lab, hammering out genetical lineage, preserving and stablizing past genetics, and selecting only the finest parents for upcoming experiements. The whole world deserves to enjoy fine cannabis and that is my goal. Free the weed, plant a seed. -B:jointsmile:

I can not help to wonder why Bryan, you would recommend another dispensary instead of the one you sold. What makes the dispensary on Wyandot a better choice.
Most people that were loyal to CCF were really loyal to Bryan not the store, so I would think they would like to continue to support Bryan the grower not just any location. If your are heading back to Cali, I guess we will not be seeing any of your efforts here in Colorado.
One more thing, and perhaps it is none of any of our business but I will ask what I know many are wondering. Are the new owners of CCF from Colorado? Will they support only Colorado growers and will the money stay here in Colorado?

I will not be there, but CCF will still be CCF, a friend of mine opened a shop and hes good people so I figured id throw it out there... I have plans, but california isn't part of them, really cant say much more than that. The new owners are from chicago, but have lived in colorado for the last twenty years and fully support the state they live in....

yes brian is gone for a while and that sucks. CCF and the grasshopper where my two top disp. in the area by far. I went to CCF the other day and I was let down a little by the quality of the smoke that was on hand. They have a new grower who has some good genetics like tangerine haze, jack the ripper, power og and some more on they way which does not sound to bad but there is one big problem with theses strains, i found seeds in all but the power og. The seeds where premature and not fertile so they where not even good to germ.

Bryan, are you going to stay in touch on here by chance? I understand keeping a low pro when you need to, I've done it several times myself, but it would be nice to know where you're at. Extensive traveling is in my future and if/when I get to where you're at, it's be dope to meet up with you again.
And BTW, thanks for the AMAZING Birthday present. Both of us have NEVER quite been that far "out there" on MJ before. It's one we'll never forget

I got cut short on my post so I am finishing it. Yes I was let down a little when I got home and found seeds in my smoke but I understand that CCF is going through some changes so I will come back and give them another shot. Brian and his mom rock and it seems like the new staff will do a good job, because they have been nothing but nice to me. I feel you're pain because there are just a handful of shops that are even worth my time and CCF and the grasshopper have always been at the top of my list so I hope they can step it back up a notch and stay at the top. There is one shop about to open on 4/20 in NED that is going to help fill the void. TREE OF LIFE ALT. MEDS os going to open its doors with some killer smoke that even the pickiest smokers will enjoy. They have 5 top self in house strains which include NYC DIESEL, The best cut of SUPER LEMON HAZE I have smoked yet, LA CON, MASTER LOVE KUSH, CINDY 99, and a DJ SHORT BLUEBERRY that looks like it is dumped in sugar. I am very picky and these strains blew me away. Also they have dozens of house strains that will be on hand in the coming months. They are going to be focusing on quality not quantity and it shows. Keep you're eyes pealed for a update on the shop and they will be posting soon. I am not trying to promote for the sake of sales, I just love good MMJ and I like to spread the word to the heads when something is worth it. And to brian, Keep you're head up and I hope to see you sooner than later and I will not give up on CCF just because I had ONE bad experience out of a hundred good ones. And by the way, the tangerine haze was great except for the seeds, so I hope the next batch is seed free.

I've got two in flower(seed), and two vegging(clone). However I frequented Bryan's shop because he had GREAT strains. One of those stains was called Sour Chem. I've never seen it before, or since! BECAUSE I will likely never see this again without Bryan, AND because Bryan is no longer my guy. AND because I was unable to get a cutting of my FAVORITE strain yet.

Sour Chem is a cross of Sour diesel AND Chem Dawg. I've had both parents and they were good. However Bryan's cross blew both away IMO.
I plan to grow all the time. The two plants I posted pics, are just good bag seed, I grew to learn on. However my trips to dispensaries have strictly been to find the strains I like most. THEN I'd planned to get a clone or more of THAT strain.
However now that Bryan is gone. The ONE strain of 50+ tried, that I LOVED!! Is gone! Nobody has this cross.
I'm about to start care giving for 5 people. I already have two of those five signed on. THEY had favorites too. Durban poison, and G13xAfgani. I got both of THOSE, for THEM. However, MY favorite that I wanted to grow for ME! Is no more.
Does this make since? With that explanation can you understand WHY? Like I said before in this thread,... I called MANY times, and asked in person MANY times. I was told over and over that I could buy a clone or 12:D. Yet when it came down to brass tax. The one strain I tried hardest to get is lost to me.
This doesn't even cover the fact that Bryan was one heck of a grower. In a pinch I could ALWAYS find something worth buying in his shop. That however is over too.
HENCE why I can be at least a bit sad. I lost my best grower AND my favorite strain.:(

I can't say I tried that specifically. However I've tried around 3-5 different Chem Dawgs from various growers. I like this strain okay. I also really like Sour Diesel. HOWEVER,... Bryans cross of the two blows both away!
There have to be 50+ strains I've really liked too. Only Bryans Sour Chem ever got me to drive across town for a specific pheno. Plus because he is/was the only person growing this cross, I tried REALLY hard to get a clone or so off him.
I can only hope for my favorite at this point, Or find a new one:wtf:.
