Good evening everyone. Im a MMJ patient that suffers from severe migraines and nerve damage in my head:(. Im trying to find some straines that will suite me and my needs. Im not working now and I definately dont have the cash to run to the local dispensary.
I started off by getting a mother that was a clone from another patient I knew. I just dont know the strain. I bought a OG KUSH clone from the dispensery. I have a bag of seeds so I germinated those. I have a CHOCOLOPE & BUBBA KUSH seed that just poped. Im running all florescent bulbs at the time..... I dont have alot of room and I plan on fixing that but for now im in a bath room. I will have pics next time...
Sorry for the long post just had to introduce myself.:baggy:

I know that all of the "white" strians are very cerebal, white widow, white rhino, white shark, and indica cross strains. Talk to a knowledgable dispensary owner and they will help you out more.

Thanks 420somehow I will look into that but for now since the dispenseries are so far im going to grow these out but I will look into those other straines... Thanks again.

:joint1:Okay 4/7/2010 I planted some BLUE CHEESE BUBBA KUSH and CHOCOLOPE seeds. I have them under 2 17watt floros from my old fish tank to get them gowing before I put them with the rest of the group.
My other seedlings (BAG-O-SEEDS) I started on 3/31/2010 are growing under a 100watt cfl next to my OG KUSH CLONE that is growing rapidly also under another 100 watt cfl. Next to the clone is a mother I found out to be part of a blood weed group...It bleeds red but smells like lemon.. Thats under a 80/65 watt floros....
This is my first grow so any input I will highly appreciate it..Oh LETSEEYA I took out that 250 watt infared light til i start flowering...

Man il tell ya you need more light. They say around 5,000 lumen's per sq ft. Now could ya grow them with less then 5,000, yes, but in the end you will kick yourself for not getting more. If you can, buy something every payday, even if its a splitter for 3-4 bucks. Because then you double your cfl's cheaply.I know its tough man, it took me 3 months before i could even call what i had going on a ''grow''. Its just i only had 5 plants and its a good thing one went male, or it would have hurt my yield. I didn't think i told ya to take it out, i ask if it was hot. Im not familiar with what kind of light it is, but id use it now. Mine liked a mixed spectrum, so get a deal on any lights you can, cuz i saw success with 11 cfls. I had a 30w, seven 26w'ers and three 23w'ers and this was with only 4 plants. I just want ya to know cuz i sorta gotta ahead of myself on my first indoor. BTW did ya check it out, it just put it in my sig. Let me know what ya think.
But your plants look great:thumbsup:I just want the best possible light, so in the end, you'll be happy with your investment. Then you can work on creating a perpetual grow. Plant for a mother or two, then use cuttings to grow. Always have something vegging and something flowering, while never running out of smoke:smokin:
Keep up the pic's of your girls and just do your best at picking up a light here an there and maybe a thermometer. I thought it was something i could do without, but when problems come up, its a way to rule out, as i learned that today. My battery's went out and i was using a box to veg a few seedlings. I had issues and after i put new batteries in, i found it was 89 degrees in there, so i put a couple vents in it. Now its at 79, i thought that there was enough vantage but i was wrong:wtf:
See Ya:rasta:

I am going to get some more cfl's... Now tell me can I buy the splitter or will I have to make it? I look at your indoor grow op and its nice... thermometer and more bulbs I will be getting. We are about to move soon and that means more room.
You are so rite on all levels and im very appreciative of the help you are giving me. I can say that its about 70degrees in there, but like you said I dont want to wait til the end and be upset... I got a STRAWBERRY COUGH seed today im going to hold on too that til I get these other kids going.....Thanks again talk too you soon.

Today I put the BLUE CHEESE BUBBA KUSH and CHOCOLOPE seedlings in cups today because the pots were to little that they were in. Had to get rid of some of my bag-o-seeds plants that were 2 weeks old to make way for these... with the extra cfl's its bomming brite now. The leaves are standing straight up and the plants are smiling:thumbsup:
The humidity is cool but its like 80degreese had to turn the fan up. Well hopefully these seedlings will some ladies....I will be going to 12/12 once they get 25 days old...
Tomorrow I hope to take a trip to the hydroponics store to get some nutes.

Looks like your gaining on on the set-up. If you can get 2 more splitters, you can take out both cfl's and put a splitter in both of the sockets. This makes it possible to have four cfl's on one light.
If you can i might try to make a reflective hood for the top of your lights, so you can take advantage of as much light as your putting out. If you can direct the light back to your grow area, its like adding more. I see that everything is white in there, but ya might try something around the sides. You could use anything white to sit on the sides of your tub to reflect your light back to your plants, rather then let it escape out into the room. The hook lights i use reflect a lot of light for me and im sure it would help you. You might find something around your house, like card board covered in crinkled tin foil, held on with duct tape or something. Anything at this point, till you can get a hook light. They are around 7.99.
Keep er green man:rasta:

What can I get or do to make the temp stay between 70 and 80 degreese??

Well i might get another fan blowing air around. Yeah 89 is a bit high, if ya can get it down a bit with a fan blowing right at the lights, i think will bring it down a bit. I have one in a box with a fan half in and half out and i suck air out, but my temps are at 80 which is fine, as the plant is telling me that. An osculating fan might work the best:hippy:
If ya got a fan in the ceiling, id keep it on, it may help some:rasta:

I defianantly agree with an added fan, a 12" oscillating fan would work great. When i ran into heat problems I would open a north facing window to basically cool the fresh air going into the room. Do you keep your door closed? open it and stick the fan in the doorway. You can veg them at a higher temp as long as they have enough water and fresh air. You can keep the plants cooler by watering with colder water. not to cold as you'll shock your plants. i run my veg at 85 by choice. i had it at low 70's with 3000w, but now that it's warmer they use thier water faster and have had a growth spurt. more airflow will also build you thicker stems= thicker buds and help coltrol pests. spider mites can't function properly with a lot of airflow. i keep my mites in check by using 2 16" and one 12" oscillating fans for an 8x10 area and they blow directly on the plants, above and below.

As far as sexing them, you might want to veg till there big enough to take a clone and put it in12/12 from each and in 2 weeks or so, it will show sex. If ya cant do this, then its basically a waiting game. Which sucks, i know. But, id treat them as females and keep up what your doing, cuz they look great now. When there at about a month on 18/6 id look for pistils everyday. Mine showed sex pretty fast, but that was because i had to take them away from the lights and the grew as house plants for a week an a half. But, that made pistils pop out big time. You don't want to do this, its to much stress and it was a safety thing for me that had to be done. A lot of people use a clone for sexing tho.
Also, people just flower at a month and when the lights go to 12/12 pistils begin to show. You will have plenty of time to get a male out before it pollinates your girls. I think this is your best plan:hippy: Il be back bro, im getting my outdoor ready now, so my thread will be up soon:jointsmile:

After you lst, they will just keep growing toward the light. So, you tie em down, they grow, ya tie em again and you could have a plant thats 10' tall thats tied down to maybe 3 or 4 feet tall. So more yield indoors and if ya Scrog it like Finn does, the top spreads out for a nice canopy on top for multiple bud sites. Now iv never tried this, but iv seen it in grow logs and the end result was incredible:hippy: Its something im going to do this year outside.

I went the same route as you on the reciepe for success kit, I also grew in soil, and used Fox farms soil. I re-potted twice before flowering.
Issue is the ONLY time during veg I used nutes, I ran at 1/3rd of 1/2(meaning 1/3rd of one gallon into two gallons) on the nutes, and still nute burned them. I'm pretty sure it's because the nutes in the soil are so rich. Plus by re-potting I kept adding new nute rich soil.
So careful on those hydro nutes!
I didn't push the flowering nutes to hard, but plan to push harder on the next grow.
You can check my grow here. I'm almost done.:D

Get twine or yarn as you dont want to cut into the stems. Tie it around the top stem, then you can tape the twine to the side of the pot. It looks very healthy and i was wondering how long has it been sense its been re potted. I might re pot and then start to tie the main stem so that its bent, but ease into it, you dont want it to brake. Thats why id re pot first, as you could get it in a bigger pot and when putting it in you could tilt it to make your first tie down easier. They really like being re potted as long as they have not started to flower.
You have started them out in small pots:thumbsup:which fill with roots, which makes the plant grow above soil. So, by starting with smaller pots and re potting at least 3 times before flowering, your plants will grow faster:thumbsup:. This is why they are doing very well, its not the nutes, its what you have done with them. Not that nutes dont help, but as the roots hit the sides of there pot, the growth at the top begins. This is the best thing you could have done.
Great job my man:hippy:

Glad everything is going well man:hippy: I might keep what ya got and not add anymore with the move and all. I know how easy it is to get a good opportunity and the itch to start a new plant, but looks like your set for a great harvest with what ya have. So, if ya can just veg till after you move, as soon as your in your new place, you can take clones and put what ya got in flower. By the time your plants finish the clones would have grown enough to flower.
So, after your moved in take clones and stick em in a good box with a cfl set up, which wont need much to just veg. Put current plants into flower. When clones have been vegged enough, clone em again. Well at the end of what im getting too, is you will be smoking the plants ya got while the clones you took are in flower and ya got clones vegging to put into flower after your original clones are finished flowering.
You'll never run out of weed, its the goal man....never run out? wow:yippee:

Today I had enough time to re-pot the OG KUSH clone because I pushed there night time back to 8. I needed to do that a few days ago but oh well.
Hey LETSEEYA do you think I should start by tieng the big fan leaves towards the bottom and is it good to pinch the top now before I make this move. Or should Ijust let it get big and wait after Iclone her.
Well thanks again...:hippy:

Is that a bigger pot you you re potted in, cuz thats the idea to keep growing out the roots to get more above ground growth? I wouldn't do anything till the plant is comfortable in its pot. Then id get your clones and fim or top. Then let it go for awhile, cuz you dont want to do to much at once or she will stress out and will take longer to recover.
I might try an keep er as a mother plant. Take clones an veg them in the same place ya keep the mother. It will not take long for the clones to flower. Iv seen a guy that puts clones in 20oz cups and flowers 36 at a time. He gets only top cola's, but 36 of them add up. He just takes all the bottom growth and concentrates on the tops. Im not saying to do 36 in these small cups, but keeping the OG would be a strain to hold on to. Plus this guys a pro and i wouldnt attemp it, he's got it dialed in man. And you could flower the others while your clones veg. But your move might get in your way as of now, so just keep them happy till ya move. The least amount of plants to move is a good idea.

I keep a small cup of water in my box to help with the humidity. You could fim the OG i think, it looks as healthy as hell. There is a great thread in the FAQ section i read that was very informative. But, basically you just snip the inner most new growth tips and this will give you four tops or more. Then let it heal up, which it should be fine in a week and you will see new growth.
Then after your moved in to your new place id take your clones and begin to tie er down. You can read up on lst in same section as the fim, FAQ.

I'm gonna veg for probably another month before taking clones...(Or 3! Thinking about 4 month veg times, read my thread http://boards.cannabis.com/grow-log/183754-first-grow.html ;) ) ... Try and stay on the light cycle, because it will hermy them. My first 2 plants i grew was sitting on the deck, well i didn't know the porch light was turned on and off while in dark cycle. Both grow into giant Hermy's. As far as the watering the leaves, its on you, but they really dont need it as you give the plants water. If it had nutes in it, i might use it, but right before lights are to go off. Timer is like 5-10 bucks, but get a digital one, there much better and most take a battery, comes in handy if ya lose power or move it, you dont need to re set it.

...I know, cuz I've kinda baked my girls a bit on a couple of occasions.
I initially set my lights to come on at 9am, and off at 3am, to 'mirror' what might be construed as 'normal' electricity usage times, but I found that during the day, especially around suppertime, the closet was too dang hot, and I couldn't get the temp down even with more fans.
I then gave the girls a long sleep one night, and reset it so that my lights come on at 8pm at night, and were on until 2pm the next day, thereby being off during the hottest part of my day.
Moving to 12/12, the lights now run from 8pm to 8am, and temps are fine (averaging 76 to a 'hottest' of 82-83 on occasion), though we've been 'blessed' with an unnaturally cold late spring / early summer up here in TO. If I had to fight hot ambient air like last summer, I might have to buy a small air conditioner.
Try shifting your lights to begin just as it's cooling off for the day (unless they're already that way)... hope this helps!

I've been thinking of running my lights at night,... there would be a couple benefits to it for me, A, I'm at work during the day, so I can't check on my plants and disturb their sleep, B would allow me more time when I get home to check them over before bed time...... Ohhh yeah, it'd help even out temp fluctuations too, (not that I'm really fighting them just yet)
Down side is if the lights are on, I'm up till 2am,... need to get out of bed at 6:30!
Good Luck Coach!,... try and find a small AC unit, I know there are some "Free Standing" units that plumb the hot air exhaust out a window,... my buddy has a couple of them for his house (not growing, just comfort ;) ) Each one does the whole floor even tho it's only rated for the single room it's in!

Definitely a good idea to run your lights at night. I run mine from 7:30am to 7:30pm. It really does help keep the temps stable, which makes happy plants. It also keeps me from playing with them, and taking pictures all the time since I can't go in there until 7:30.

If i were you i might just make your light switch when you move. Its better to run at night for heat and cost. Might really help at your new pad with heat. Ya never know, cuz ya never lived there:hippy: Just putting it out there, cuz better to make the switch before flower.

...from LSY, above. Make the switch when you move. Put black plastic garbage bags over the top of 'em whilst you're actually moving 'em (and make a special trip just for 'em), then, after giving them a nice long sleep, re-set your lights to come on whenever in your neighbourhood the day finally seems to be 'cooling off', add the air conditioner if you need to, and you should be good to go.
I'm thinking about designs for a non-electrical (primitive) air conditioner that will work on the evaporative process...

... just saw something in an ad called something like "scorpion juice" from A.N.... supposed to be the cat's ass for dealing with spider mites.
Also got a great bit o' advice from an ole-timer 'round downtown TO... never enter your grow without taking a shower, and changing into clean clothes. NEVER. You never know when you might be carrying spider mites or somesuch in your hair or on your clothes...
Hope this helps!

If ya do grow them outside, i think you will like what you get. I get a nice yield out there, just be safe man. They need as much sun as possible, but will still grow and bud up with just a few hours of direct sun light, iv done it. They just wont get real tall, but if your hiding them, thats cool:cool:
Looking great man:thumbsup:

If your girl dark period is getting light, you will get Hermy's, i did with a porch light. But just make sure the blinds are down, if you see light on the plant. Thats one thing i learned after growing the biggest two ever, both hermied. But if they arnt showing light on them you should be fine. The moon can light up the sky, but no one blames it for hermies iv seen.

Well your plants are doing well man:thumbsup:, so when is the move. You should really think about your new set-up at your new place. There are tons of great ones on this site, so i might try an take the good from each an incorporate them in your new set-up. It would be great to section off the end of the garage as if its not there. Sorta just bring out the wall and hide the door. It doesnt have to be huge, but enough room for the amounts of plants you will grow at a time. You could vent straight to the attic or better, with the dryer. I guess its about how close the neighbors are, or where your electric meter is, cuz ya don't need anyone knowing your hobby. There is a good thread for indoor set-up, id check it out man:jointsmile:
Good luck bro:rasta:

Thanks man;)... Well we are suppose to move on the first of july, we have been doing work to the house because the renters we had in there didnt keep it in shap...No sweat gives me time to do my homework . I think im going to just flower them in the closet its about 8feet x 7feet give or take... Im thinking of doing that because its going to take me some time to get that garage together. You hit it rite o the nail with what I want to do with the ventalation straight to the addict. the dryer is some distance but I think I can pull something off... The garage is 11feet x 17 feet 8 inches... I definatly want to section it off for vegging and flowering. I will check out that thread on indoor set-ups.
Thanks again bro your the man....:hippy:

What kind of rooting compound you using? You've got a humidity dome right?
Your cuttings look really good,... at least MUCH better than mine! :o And I had 100% success on the first 3. (tried my hand with 5 more last night just to prune mom down some)
