Anyone know how long it takes to become a glass blower

I was thinking of learning to create glass pipes but I can't find any info on how many months or years it takes to get good enough that someone might actually but the crap you make. Anyone got info or tips? I am 22 with no art background

well, don't take this the wrong way, but it's not really a hobby that you can just pick up like that! It takes years and years of learning how to manipulate the glass under extrememe heat! I've only worked with some glass bead making and that is very difficult. To sculpt the glass to make a pipe you have to have really steady hands and know how to control the glass and move it correctly under the flames.

I have a friend who has been blowing glass for over 10 years and she still struggles with making pipes. It is an amazingly cool hobby though! And I totally recommend trying it or taking a class. Watching people blow glass is so cool. :jointsmile:
