The only way to mess up a fim is to take too much, so that would be topped:thumbsup:.

Just go into the very top and cut only the new growth tips and leave the rest. So your going to end up with two mm size pieces of leaf tips.

Hope this helps as my first fim grew 7 tops and you could get more or less:thumbsup:

Get a big bag of weed and go and sit at your grow site.

I like to squash a few bugs on the plant and if any more come wandering bye they might think twice about making it their home.

i dnt have that kinda time man i work all da time or seeing my missus and kid, but friday is the day i will wander down to my site at about 10 to see if its getting light if not predict when it will start getting light there, and then ill come back at like 4 to predict when it will finish how many hours should they get of directo?:jointsmile:

Man ya really don't need the 12 hours a day everyone will say, thats all about indoor. I grew a plant 4' in a gallon milk jug in the shade till about 6, so it got about 2 direct light. But, of course the more the better. Its a good idea to go out and check out the seen. When you get there just mark where the sun is at the time with a stick in the ground. Then go out at 6pm and you will have a idea where things are. Mark this with a stick, then the middle should be your best spot.

A long time grower told me the one most important things is to get good holes and keep em for ever. So, if they do well make sure ya fill em next year too.

And your plants look good. They luv the rain man, just give em some time and in the next week il bet ya get 4-5'' of growth, measure em and tell me if im wrong:hippy:

If that is ferts ya got laying on top the soil id get rid of it, it will just burn em up. But, when ya plant, dig about 5'' to deep add a bit of unmixed ferts and then the rain will fert the soil for you. So, the roots will grow into it and bang your going to see big time growth:thumbsup:

ye dat plant looks nice ok u just officially re kindled my hope of an at least average harvest my new guestimate of sunlight after just checking its still there i rekun they gt another 1h and half in the sun today so that goes from about 1130am-430pm to be safe so thats 5hrs of the hottest sun as its middle of the day so im happy agen:D:jointsmile:

You shouldnt need any bug protection in bud as after the get to about 3feet the bugs arnt your issue, its bigger animals. Here we got deer, rabits and woodchucks. Ya got deer there? im clueless, lol.

Sure you can do that, im not sure how the soil is where your growing, but if its ok id just skip the soil, cuz in a couple weeks it should have grown through it and into the soil thats around the soil you plan to add. A 20 year grower told me about sprinkling the ferts below the roots for them to grow into after there roots begin to explore the ground. He grows 10-15 footers too, so i did a couple this way and a few my way to see what happens:) Il be posting whats happening with them.

I used to work for a firm that made them very same flags (pure back breaking work),they had a good technique of laying on a sand cement mix levelled off, then pour a watery brick mix between the gaps.(easy). I've been watchin my next door neighbour doing his garden for 2 weeks(I could of done it in 2 days). He was using a small angle grinder with a huge blade to cut the flags.lol.(damn cement dust all over my girls).

When a lot of leaves get droopy i re pot every time. Also i would make sure ya put the soapy water on when its dark or really close to it and also add garlic an onions, it smells really bad but helps better. Make sure you get the under side of the leaves too, as they eat their a lot and don't notice till they eat through.

update!!!!

okay so they droopyness has sorta gone i still got sum in the black pots but there smaller so its cool:jointsmile:

my space is small and i had a busy weekend with the missus and the kid and i wasnt able to get to my plants all weekend and the sun had frazzled 4 of them but i dnt care they all looked like males anyway real tall and lanky...

i gt sum more in the ground but theres a few more to go and nt much space so i just want the ladies to show me there tits so i know which ones to get rid of!!!!

there doing well and theyve come back strong most of them and there just on water at the mo im gunna start nutes agen this sunday coming.

1 is retard which was looking pretty ragged wen i found it with ants and woodlouse in its roots!! i flushed out and put in the ground and now she looks healthy agen.

2 is curly wurly! lovely looking good internode spacing and bushy looks like she cud be a winner, however she has curling leaves and new growth!! bout 3 foot tall

3 agen a nice looking plant this time with no name but she looks great bout 3 foot tall

4 curly wurly deluxe good growth thick stalk nice and bushy lovely and healthy except shes curling aswell!! bout 3 and 1/2 foot tall

5 very tall just over 4foot large internode gaps maybe male hope im wrong!!

Sorry man, a lot of new threads pushed yours down and then wondered way you hadn't posted in awhile. Any way man i think your twisting is a Magnesium issue. So you might want to adjust your ferts and start adding the Mg.

The droopy ones at first site i say re pot, but if they are in the round id have to say they would be growing in clay, but looks like ya got good soil in. They will grow in just about anything so im sure its not where its planted. It could be lacking Nitrogen tho. But i need to open your other pics an with my dial up, il look more tonight.



Your looking better tho, really getting bigger will help with the bugs man:)

i just cant realy see that well man they all look like little green mini stems coming out except sum have white hairs its hard to tell but im leaving on saturday

Iv never seen a white pistil on a male before bro, so maybe ya got ya girl. But what makes ya think it a male if ya dont see nut sacks? Will figure it out before ya gotta leave. Do you have a magnifying glass as that would help a lot. 30x i think they the pro's recommend. Just look at about the 3rd node up in between the stem and branch growth should show sex. But dude if your seeing pistils, its female. I had thought plant 1 was male, just by the look of her, but pistils shoot out and im a proud papa:thumbsup:

E ye I know pistils means it's a girl, I meant sum of my plants ave pistils. And sum I can't tell yet. Who cares anyway I went home over the weekend to check and feed, and I had to pull 1 male. I'm a fucking happy man out of the 17 that were there 12 had pistils and 4 I'm still nt sure of but I think they were girls, I'll be able to tell by the time I go home so i'm looking at 12-16 girls of which 3 are well over 6 foot there taller than me and I'm 6ft 5in:jointsmile:

do I start feeding flowering bytes now or do I wait for bud development?

Also if I'm gunna force flower wats the best way to do it to a plant that's in the ground :jointsmile:

ye mine all seem to be really tall i think and not so bushy but that is one of the traits of the sativa plant i reckon if i had perfect conditions and no stress on these plants i cud of got my bigguns to 14-18ft by now

Hello mate, its been a while,

just put a light plastic sheet over your girl or just knock a couple of stakes in ground then fix the plastic over.

I've had a few issues with budrot on my last plant i harvested ,I took clones just before flowering and the parts of the branch that i cut turned black and somehow promoted budrot on my girl. I had to chop early otherwise I'd of lost her.

I've already had a few harvests this year but have got at least a 30 day wait until my next one .soz my thread kinda died but I found out a few people I know come on here so was getting a little too hot for comfort plus my phone refuses to connect to my pc and can't upload pics.

Fungus
Fungus is another problem when you are in flowering, because they are
susceptible to a fungus or bud rot. Growing conditions for fungus are best when
temps are between 60 and 80 degrees and the humidity is high. The fungus is
very destructive and spreads quickly. These kinds of fungus are air borne and
can travel to other bud sites. If you already have been infected by them the best
thing you can do is cut off and remove the infected area and then discard out of
the grow area, then get a hold of some anti-fungal spray and apply.

Fungi can kill your crop quick, so invest in some SAFE fungicide and spray down
the plants as much as you can and as soon as you can. The faster the safer. If
you have had problems with fungus before, do NOT spray them you will
contribute to the fungus becoming resistant to the spray/chemicals you are using.
Try to keep the humidity down to the range fungus do not grow to well in. Keep a
good amount of ventilation around your grow, and if you have plants outside,
always keep them quarantined away youâ??re your indoor plants until you know
they are safe.

Most fungicides are very nasty and eating them can be very dangerous so itâ??s
best to use something on them that is safe on plants that you can eat, safer
makes a very safe product that can be found in most stores and hydro shops. It
contains only sulfur in solution. Here is a picture of what bud rot looks like when it
starts to form.

Control
To control to prevent fungus from forming there are a few things you should do. DO NOT foliar feed at night, tends to make humidity higher rather than when you water in the day the water has time to evaporate where at night will linger in the air.
Same goes for watering plants at night, wait till the morning or afternoon to water! Keep a happy plant and will not become prone to infections. Checking plants often can aid in getting rid of any fungus that may attack other leaves and or bud! Have a lot of air going around the plants for bad ventilation= sick plants and a breeding ground for spores! Keep leaves away from soil making sure they do NOT touch the soil.
Keep cooler temps at night while plants are on there down time. If you have already gotten some kind of fungus there are things you can use:
neem2, neem oil works wonders!! Potassium Bicarbonate, Baking soda and for
other chemical agents you can use Plant Shield, Serenade and pythium! There
are many other chemicals and organics that work but these are the most popular and they work very well


here is a good article I found online. I have a couple of books that reinforce everything he says so I trust the source. Personally, I use a product called Serenade. It contains a strain of Bacteria that attacks the mold, and powedery mildew. If used as a preventative measure, it can be very effective(or so i am told)

now that mine have started flower :D:D can i cut the fan leaves off so they get more light to the budding sites or shud i not do that??

had to chop 2 more males :( but im 99% sure thats all of them and i got 2 little powerplants on the go which i adopted:)

im now starting flowering nutes but im working away from home so im relying on a bit of rain in the week which isnt too much to hope for seeing as its pissed it down for like 3 days straight lol

The fan leaves are actualy gas exchangers which your plant needs. the transpiration and respiration are being done by them, at least 70% of what goes on . removing them will cause gas build up in your plant which will adversly affect your yeild. Also as was mentioned...they are sugar factories and removing them may force your girls to use their energy to produce more leaves than bud for a while to get the sugars they need. If they turn yellow towards the end of the flowering, their job is done and they will begin to die.

oh mate dnt even go there.......... weather conditions and other matters induced an early harvest GUTTED!!! was going to be pengggg!! wait for it tho thats the last time i do outdoors in this country might do next year on a smaller scale so i can think about force flowering becuz the flowering season is too late in this shithole excuse for land mass!!
