if i add more soil to a steretched plant could it hurt the stem?

I've done it before (buried some of the stem) and never had a problem. Probably because it was an established plant and the stem was tough, had like bark on it. I wouldn't do it with a baby seedling though, it would probably rot.

what if I water it now and add some dry soil, do u think it would establish another root system?

ive buried them right up to the bottom of the leafs
even buried the two lil round starter leafs
