So I am having a cold wet spring and a late start planting outdoor is likely to happen. I think I need to start indoor since I 'm growing from seed. I sold off all my indoor equipment, so I need a new light to sprout the seeds. What type of light should I buy? I would prefer something on the inexpensive side (flourescent?). What should the light cycle be? 16hrs light, 8 dark? Thanks for your help.

definately cfl if you have a small budget.
I normally do 24 hr then 16/8 so may 24 for a week then 16/8 after.
good luck with the outdoor grow

Correct me if Im wrong but I think it stands for Compact Fluroescent Light. Not 100% on that though.

thx for the input everyone.
So looked at a 125w CFL. Will this light be able to grow clones in the veg stage, to prepare them for flowering? Or should I spend a little more and get a 400w metal halide, that I can use to grow clones in the veg stage, and sprout seedlings for outdoor? My space is a small closet.
