I thought temps like those were acceptable when using CO2? Is 85f optimum?

I've worked with co2 and it did raise the temps. And working with those 1000 watts can be killer! I've got a portable a/c running on a 600w and it helps a little, but still almost impossible to keep consistant. I'm switching to leds for my next grow....hoping to eliminate the heat issue all together!

But I wanted to say that your babies look great. You've got quite the project on your hands....that's alot of plants! I've never tried my hand at jillybean but it is one of my favorites! Such a pretty bud!

what i did to combat heat issues is i ought one of the thermostatically controlled attic fans and installed it right in the side of my shop. i set the thermostat at 78 degrees, so when it gets above that, the fan kicks on and sucks the hot air roght out in about 30 seconds. i also have a heater in there that while its dark keeps the temp right at 70 degrees.

Best way to do it! Gotta love those thermostats and with the OP your running your gonna need em. Just make sure one of them doesn't fail(don't wanna jynx it) but how often do you check on your ladies or is it a pretty much failsafe set up? Some people get grows that big dialed in to the point that they only check em once a day! How much work it for you? OR shall I say how much pleasure is it for you?

i dont know if you were responding to dan or to me, but ive got as many plants going right now myself.

personally, being that im retired im in my grow constantly thru-out the day.

also, i have all of my thermometers and humidity gear wireless, so i can look at a glance at temp, humidity, ect. ive even got night vision video cams (13 total) watching every aspect of my grow (inside, outsode, ect) so i can see them even when im not in,all set to record 24/7 and upload all of their data to a remote server via wireless connection on battery backup (just in case the power goes out...LOL),plus everything (temp, humidity, cameras, ect) are on alert alarms, so if something wrong, i know right away. my grows got some serious security!

using a brain to control co2 temps, ect. i was having heat issues until reconfigured ac unit and ducting. now everything is perfect. keep it around 82 with lights on and drops to around 70 or just below when lights off. this is my first grow so trying to learn as going along. checking it at least 3 times a day and up to 50 times when i feel something is wrong with the set up. soon we will get all those cameras but as this is my first one, already spent thousands more than expected so trying to conserve as much as possible. went on vacation and dealing with dehydration and heat issues (before reconfiguration) so quality and quantity of nugs are not close to as good as they should be. well, at least for 1/2 of it. smelling orange and fruity, neighbors have no clue thanks to a few carbon filter.

i understand what your saying, was having heat issues from week 2 - week 5 and finally coming together with almost perfect temps. if doesnt work out come summer time ill throw one in there. thanks

you might think about one anyway for summer. temps on indoor grows can become brutal real fast. the thermostatic attic fan i got is big enough for a 2400 square foot home, comes with the thermostat, all the mounting hardware, ect and was UNDER 50 BUCKS. of course i had to buy the loovers that go outside and open up when the fan comes on seperate ( 20 bucks usually, but my bro that works where i got the fan cut me an 95% discount..SHHHHH!) BUT MAN, I CANT SEE HOW I EVER LIVED WITHOUT ONE....i even bought a couple of flapper type drier vents ( open and close when the fan kicks on) and mounted them right up in the top edge of the wall i put up in my flowering room so when the fan kicks on it sucks the whole room out quick. it only stays on about 3-4 minutes when it starts up. then ive got a thermostatic heater too, so my temps hardly fluctuate between day and night, just a few degrees lower.

cannabis is one of the EASIEST plants to grow, BUT its an artform.

no, not how early do you HAVE sex, but how early do you sex your plants?

there are several methods of sexing, which do you use?

i usually wait for my seedlings to get about a month old (at least 7 nodes) and throw them on 12/12 for a few days. generally about 90% will show their sex in 3-4 days. then when im positive what ive got i put them back on 24 hour light and reveg them until im ready to flower.

BE CAREFUL though doing that with older plants. while some strains go back to veg rather easely, ive had some (such as that OG X Martian) just go into a "holding pattern" and continue, ever so slowly to produce female pistles . not really buds mind you but poppin pistles here and there. when i put my martian on reveg ( when i got it, my bro had already started 12/12 on it ( he said it was on 4 days, but i think more like a week myself) when i put my matian pla nt on reveg 24 hour with my other plants, it did this, and when i went to 12/12 it literally exploded with flowers and pistles overnight. it was like it had all those budding hormones built up ( just like a horny school girl) and went nuts when it got what it needed...LOL.....she got wet and sticky real fast!

that put me in mind of this time i had a new grower call me up. i got on the phone and he said "man, you GOT to come check my plant out!....the buds are so sticky and wet they are literally dripping resin, and they smell great!!!"....i tought to myself ....hmmmmm...SOMETHING DOESNT SOUND RIGHT. i popped over to his place ad he took me out to his flowering room. i looked at his buds, and the top kola WASNT "DRIPPING WITH RESIN" IT WAS DRIPPING ALRIGHT , BECAUSE IT WAS LITERALLY ROTTEN AND SLIMEY, like a bunch of celery thats been forgotten in the friges crisper drawer for a month or two. the stench was gut wrenching. smelled like a mixture of blue cheese, dirty feet ,rotting skunk and sweaty rank dirty unwashed vaggy. i damn near puked on the spot. i told him how screwed up his sit was and he literally cried when he pulled those girls up and trashed them.
