Im planning my first hydroponic grow. I think for starters i am going to go with the ebb and flow system with the rockwool starters and 3 inch cubes with the cutout. I was planning on doing drip system with the mothers and ebb and flow for the veg and flower cycles for the rest of the crop. I was trying to find out what the best nutrients are for this type of system for veg and flower cycles. The last i heard was that you should water with this system 3 times a day but i dunno. Also while i was building my system i decided to grow some in a topsoil/perlite mixture. They are almost 3 weeks old and i havent added any nutes or ferts yet. I was wondering when should i start adding these in a soil medium and what is a good soil medium fert/nute system?
Thx all the help would be greatly appreciated.

The only nute I used for soil was foxfarms 6 part nutes. Worked awsome with big buds! As for hydro it's up to you. Many swear by different products and the one I chose was advanced nutrient sensi 2 part with foxfarm enhancements. Also I noticed you wanted to keep mothers with your e&f setup. I would suggest keeping mothers in dirt. If power goes out or a pump breaks then your genetics are safe.

Forgot to tell you my experience with foxfarm hydro. IMO they are great nutes for veg(don't know about flowering) but the reason why I didn't continue flowering cause ff had way to much sediment in the big bloom. Didn't want to waste time filtering so I switched

after watching a few grows of a friend and seeing the yield increases of upto 30% using House and Garden nutes and their feeding formula...they offer some solid results with a simple 2part mix ....one grow was on GH flora 3 part and the other was using AN's mess of products...and H&G outperformed both hands down..I am going to do a grow with them when i get back to the states in my grow log myself:thumbsup:

for just starting out, I would highly recommend General Hydroponics 3-part and Cal Mag Plus if using RO water or in a low cal / mag area (like much of the Colorado front range)

Advanced Nutrients "mess of products" is perhaps too much to start with, IMO.

I just had a hydro gro cut short, but I was using General Hydroponics Maxi- Series, and I had no problems. Now, there was a good amount of sediment, but I used a DWC so it didnt go anywhere. Its cheap too.

so what exactly are the pros and cons for E&F compared to DWC? Keeping in mind that this will be my second grow ever and my first hydro grow.
