Not to be sarcastic, but what ever happened to patients helping patients? Most patients I know couldn't afford $200 to learn how to grow. Jorge Cervantes and Ed Rosenthal have all the information a person needs and its far cheaper. But, I knew it wouldn't be long until the mmj scene turned into a cash cow for some. :(

When you have rent, business license, insurance, et cetera to pay, then you can bitch about what other people charge. Sure we should all live in Obama's Socialist utopia, where everything is free and no one works.
$100 per person for a class where they have to bring in an outside instructor is very reasonable imho.
Can't afford it, don't go and learn how to grow on a website like greenpassions for free.

I already know how to grow. Matter of fact, been busted for it and had plants ripped off. And, I know other places where they will teach for free. But, do as you wish. No skin off my butt. :D

I think I called this all along. People will be getting rich off the movement. Some of the movers and shakers in the industry had that plan all along. Don't really care. As long as the private citizen has the right to grow there own medicine the rich can do whatever they want.

And is that better or worse than the illegal growers profiting. You know, those who benefit from keeping MMJ and MJ illegal. Who benefit by it being harder, not easier, for MMJ patients to legally grow or purchase medicine.
They fear legalization more than the DEA imho.

Humboldt County worries about life after legal pot
(AP) â?? 17 hours ago
EUREKA, Calif. â?? Marijuana growing has long been a way of life in Humboldt County, especially in recent years as timber and fishing jobs have disappeared along California's North Coast.
Now some residents worry that their way of life is being threatened â?? not by law enforcement, but by efforts to legalize marijuana in the state.
Community members are gathering Tuesday night to consider the consequences. They worry about the ripple effect that a drop in marijuana prices could have on the county as a whole if legalization undermines the black market.
"We have to recognize that if we have something that is this big a piece of our economy that is subsidized by being illegal, that this is an unsustainable situation," Humboldt County Supervisor Mark Lovelace said.
In recent years, anti-drug agents have seized hundreds of thousands of marijuana plants in the county, mostly from massive gardens in remote mountain forests that have earned the region the nickname Emerald Triangle. Law enforcement estimates put the street value of the crop in the billions of dollars.
The eradication efforts have not halted marijuana growing in Humboldt, but the number of plants seized does give a sense of the scale of the industry.
Meeting organizer Anna Hamilton of Shelter Cove said she believes legalization could be "devastating" to the region and that Humboldt County should plan ahead by capitalizing on its name recognition as a marijuana destination.
"We have to embrace marijuana tourism, marijuana products and services â?? and marijuana has to become a part of the Humboldt County brand," said Hamilton, who describes herself as "intimately involved" with the marijuana industry.
Supporters of a ballot measure to legalize marijuana in limited quantities are still waiting for official word that they've submitted enough signatures to qualify for the November statewide ballot.

There will still be a profit in legalization. Not everyone can own a gold mine. Supply will take a while to catch up to demand. You don't hear tobacco growers or companies bitching too loudly do you? And, marijuana is a far safer product.
Besides, I believe all marijuana production will probably end up being locally grown, with some going nation wide after its proven to be reliable and reputable. :D

There's already been talk that the tabacco companies already have a plan to start marketing MJ once it goes legal. Can you imagine what there garbage is going to be like?

The price is actually $175...
I won't dignify anyone calling Stoney Girl a profiteer with a response, except to say that, if you knew who you were talking about, you would be ashamed of yourself.
Please read: Mission (http://gro4me.com/mission.htm)
They do this for 10 years and don't make a dime and now they have decided that groups like theirs SHOULD be in the medical marijuana industry. (It really is an industry - like it or not.)
So, who would you like to see leading the way? RJR Tobacco, Monsanto and General Mills or Stoney Girl, along with their doctors and researchers?
The fact is medical marijuana is growing up and it's people like Stoney Girl that will usher in a whole new era for us all. Stoney Girl is reinventing medical marijuana - like it or not - and we ALL stand to benefit from that.
Please do some research before you start bashing people. It's the least you could do.

The class sounds like a good one. Stoneygirl is strictly organic and very knowledgeable.
Yes, it costs some money to learn from a pro. To those seeking growing knowledge this class could be very valuable.

Still at it?
Deleted my post I see.
Just goes to show what these folks are all about. Profiting from sick people. Wanna do some good for the MMJ community? Teach how to grow for free and sell your dope to em!
$175.00 to teach what 99% of the population already knows. Unreal. Don't waste your money folks. Do a search on the net and you can find outlines how to sucessfully grow your own and spend the hard earned money on seeds or cuts. These folks are a discredit and shamefull to the MMJ community!
SCUM. Bottom feeders period!

My understanding is that she was from Oregon so she had expenses and we're not all rich and in good health so she probably needed a hotel room to stay at.
I give her the benefit of the doubt.

Interesting, my post was deleted as well, lol.
I'll repost what I said because it is true.
Stoney Girl claims more than 25% THC (one of their strains like 30% ROFL), and also that their strains can flower in as little as 4 weeks. They also say to look at the pistils color change to decide when to harvest.
1: Steep Hill Labs who does the most testing of any facility I know of, including the Medical Cup testing in CA has never recorded a strain above 24% THC, and those are like pure sativas, most indica dominants never go above 16%.
2: no strain will flower in 4 weeks.
3: only complete and total noobs look at pistils for determining when to harvest, using the maturation of the trichomes by looking at them under magnification is the gold standard for determining when to harvest.

I have no opinion about Stoney Girl, first off. No comment, there.
However, I wouldn't say 99% of the MMJ community in WA state already knows how to grow. I see MMJ patients all day - very few of them know how to grow and many of them are pretty confused about it all. I do recommend the Cervantes books to them, but admittedly some people learn a lot better being taught by a presenter than they do from books or from info on the internet. So classes can and do have a lot of benefit for some people. And, of course, grow classes for free would be great for all. Unfortunately, such is not always available. :(

all education should be free but that is unrealistic. i have paid more then 200 for a seminar on a programming language. i believe a skill has a value and her skill is growing and her time has value. stop your bitching about her being a scum and a fake. ya allot of mmj patients don't have a lot of money me included but those that do have the right to pay to learn it. if they offered these classes before i knew the little i know i would have taken it. it took me days and days to get the information i needed to grow. it took me getting help along the way from many many people. the whole time i wished there was someone who could teach me. it is a frustrating experience to learn it from the books and forums. so ya i support anyone willing tom do it. do i think they should have a paying seminar yes but also it would be nice to see them offer scholarships for those that can prove there very low income. and charge more from those that can afford it. or have benifactors that donate spots for the poor.
