good (preferably inexpensive) soil to use with fox farm ocean forest! help plz!

i need to find an inexpensive soil to finish the transplanting of my plants from 1.5 gallon pots to 5/6 gallon pots.

i ran out of fox farm ocean forest during the transfer (my mistake).

i dont have the means to get fox farm now but i'd like to finish putting soil in. i have the 5/6 gallon pots filled up about 3/4ths of the way.

looking for something inexpensive i could find at say homedepot/lowes that wont be bad for the plant or those who consume/smoke it once the plants are finished.

any and all ideas please!

and can the bottom layer of branches be removed and filled up to that point with soil to promote root growth?

looking to switch to 12/12 between the 23rd and the 30th of this month.

I mixed my FF with MG plant &veg worked great !!!

At WalMart, MG soil was going to be my suggestion as well. The nutrients in it will give a little stretch, but should finish nicely. No nutrients for the first few weeks after the transplant, then start with quarter or half-doses of nutrients, and watch their reaction.

Usually, I wait till the 2nd week or so of flower to give my final transplant, but using MG I would transplant a couple of weeks prior to the transplant. Gives 'em a chance to burn-off some of the nutes before switching to the flower stage.

Burying the crown (top of the rootball, where rootball meets the stalk) at this stage can have very negative results. Best to keep soil at same level. (unless you are re-vegging the lady)

Branch removal can be done safely to within about two weeks of switching to 12/12, but I leave 'em alone. At this point, the less you stress them, the better they will fill-in. More stress equals more recovery time...And just prior to flowering, you'll want 'em stress-free.
