Is there anyone with a lot of chronic pain and medication tolerance that has been able to find effective treatment for trigger thumb or finger with cannabis? I am trying to have surgery as soon as possible as i did in my other thumb in 03 when i didn't have the pain med tolerance i do now. I use the cannabis for other conditions primarily. But this pain is torturing me and you just don't realize how much you need your thumb until you can't use it! It's also my dominant hand.

i am unable to take anything in the advil family because of renal disease. And i really can't take much over the counter pills at all. I am really trying to find cannabis related answers only. Is it that I'm not smoking enough? I take about 3 puffs or maybe 1/3 joint (if smoking) or 2 dense bags (if vaping) or 2 doses edible at a time if eeating for pain in the rest of my body. The smoking I do for the in the moment pain. Edibles i only do on days I'm having it really rough. Then i do my edibles because they seem to be so slow to kick in.

Anyone who has experience with tolerance and this condition would really be helpful and i would love feedback. Thanks!

Tolerance and the condition are not related.

Surgery will be the only fix as you know. Different plants/species affect each person differently. The edibles you consume, you give no description.

I use pills and bolus sometimes with smoke. I take 2 00 sized. I used the recipe found in the concentrates section. I have heart troubles so I really need to keep smoke of any type to a minimum.

Last suggestion is try some white widow or similar very high THC plant.

The strain I've been using most commonly and is my absolute favorite is Tangerine Haze. I do believe it's new? I have seen it at only one of the clubs I go to and it's the strongest I've had. I also like Jack Herrer and Queen Dream when the Tangerine isn't there.

I don't really see White Widow on this side of the bay but if i had a car i could go 30 minutes for it. Is the White Widow stronger than the strains I just mentioned? I've tried it once, but it was 7 years ago. I don't remember.

I'm definitely going to have the surgery but I need to go through their process to get approved because kaiser is this big corporate HMO that is all about protocal and money. I will eventually get it i do think. i got it last time. Just need something to hold me over.

Thanks.

I also didn't mention that i frentuently medicate. I smoke the amount i need til the pain is gone then i stop and i do what i can and rest when i need but i smoke about 2 grams per day. Just wanted to give you that information. I feel like maybe I am needing to constantly medicate so maybe I should medicate more?

Thanks in advance for all of your help. I just think I'm using my cannabis wrong all around for everthing at this point.

I have never tried those strains, but you seem to be getting some relief from your statements, you are maybe building tolerance to them, try some different types and see. I find sativa dominates work best for my joint pain/arthritis, without putting me on the couch all day
