So my question is can you be prescribed mmj for anxiety, depression, eating disorders?... and more specifically in Colorado?
I've heard mixed responses and would love to hear your answers and opinions. I have had anxiety/depression practically my entire life and been on and off different pills that don't work. I know mj helps me and would like to get legal, less anxiety not having to worry about johnny law =P:hippy:

I am not from Colorado, but I am for the use of medical marijuana in ALL of the US for anxiety, depression, etc. For years, I have been taking handfuls of bathtub synthetic "pharmaceuticals" and they are just nothing but poison. Herbal healing and or therapy should be an option. It is the FDA that needs to be cracked down on for allowing more harmful than helpful "medications" be distributed and used.

The ACTUAL drugs do not help or work.

Then why on the same website, the application says "HIV or AIDS positive
OR A medical condition or treatment that produces, for this patient, one or more of the following and which, in the
physicianâ??s professional opinion, may be alleviated by the medical use of marijuana." or am i not getting this -_-

I'm not sure, all I know is I had a friend try to get his card for anxiety and he was denied by the State. But the same person got a card for nausea.
Go figure?

I would hope to get it without having to lie, but if it's the only way i'll do it lol
Perhaps someone could shed some light on this topic. I have a little time to waste waiting for my tax return before i can get it anyways, Yay for taxes

I hear ya, Just think of it this way. Your anxiety can cause you to get nauseous, right?

Haha I like your thinking :D
Thats why i brought up eating disorders too since depression can easily cause them seems like another easy way to go

And you can get a RX for Marinol. It is a pill from of THC for nausea. This can come in handy if you have to take an U/A, or if the cops try to charge you with DUI.

I was in the same boat that you are in. Just like you, the pills were horrible, they did nothing but make me have no feelings at all... How can that shit be legal !!!?
I went to see a psychologist for my anxiety/depression etc... I went online to find physicians / Dr's that were listed willing to give recommendations...
So I made an appointment, and brought my medical records with me. He said he signed it because I have attempted previously to get help and tried (with the pills I assume)...
So if you have medical records and can find a physician/Dr, listed in a directory that will give recommendation go ahead and make an appointment.
Mine was a free visit but I only had to pay if he accepted me and I wanted to go through with it... So it might be same for you in that it will be a free visit to see if you qualify. If he/she says no, just go down the line until one hopefully says yes...
And I hear you.... I could hardly eat because of my anxiety/depression etc etc... The last thing you want to do is eat, and its hard because your stomach feels so fucked up. So MJ does help on a lot of levels.... and Mentally... It really helped me let go of things that was hard for me to let go. And to relax and be positive on my outlook.
I hope this helps...

Very helpful ty :)
Yeah pills aren't they way, and i'll keep trying until i get it. Hopefully it will be the first time i try.
That part in the form "OR A medical condition or treatment that produces, for this patient, one or more of the following and which, in the
physicianâ??s professional opinion, may be alleviated by the medical use of marijuana." Does that mean any condition as long as a physician thinks it can help? I'm guessing that's what your guy marked you as then...

Yeah pretty much.... On the certificate he gave me it said pretty much the same thing...and then after that statement it has his signature. Except it said "medical use of cannabis" haha
I only brought in my medical records. The only form I had was the basic stuff the MJ Dr had me fill out at the office, and actually I believe anxiety was listed on it so I check marked the shit out of it. haha
It was a pretty generic form.
You might want to look at the directories for the physician/Dr's and give them a call and see who might bite.
When I called the conversation was like this:
"yeah,......hi, I saw your number on a medical Marijuana listing on the web"
(its awkward calling for the first time, probably similar to ordering a hooker, not that I would know haha)
"Before we go into depth more, what makes you think you are in need of Cannabis?"
Then I told her my situation etc.. and then she was cool... she was saying A lot of the times teenagers will call in to try to get score MJ and it wastes their time etc. so they might be that way on the phone at first but dont sweat it.
My psychiatrist was really cool and typed up a letter on his opinion that medical marijuana has benefits. He couldn't sign or do recommendations because its not a private practice and they are insured by medical companies or some shit like that... Basically sometimes its all about business :-(
However, the Dr that did give me a recommendation is in private practice.
The Dr who did sign it was really cool. It wasn't like a back alley type of setting...very professional, office building and all. He told me his opinions on stuff when I asked questions and he even said that those pills will in the long run mess up your brain when it comes to the way you think. I'm assuming he meant problem solving skills and day to day thinking that may change over time from taking pills.
Personally, I think it comes down to finding that Dr who isn't so DAMM conservative and is open to medical proof and legitimate alternatives.
If your Dr is the type that watches Bill O'Reilly on Fox, you're pretty much Fucked.... haha
Please let us know how it goes, so that others can learn from this.
