On Huffingtonpost.com Denver section: Larimer County, CO: Two growers got tied up at gunpoint, looted for everything, including their personal guns. They were operating from their residence... So...the gangsters are watching you, probably harder than the federal cops we're all worrying over. And if they operate like gangsters, they probably have friends at the post office writing down addresses that receive anything from grow stores, and are watching nurseries looking for nice folks buying lots of soil & fertilizers, tailing them or contacting their friend at the DMV with your plate numbers...Be Careful folks, loose lips sink ships, keep treating this thing like you really need to hide it.

Thats why you should always secure your grow rather it be in your residence or at a remote location... and if your going to carry a gun, make sure you know how to use it and it is with or near you at all times. I also always keep my alarm on, that way if someone tries to get in, they is much more likely to take off once they hear the alarm, if not....then its happy hunting.

I prefer bats over guns as they offer much more of a "hands on" experience and I still feel that the raid that finds both guns and meds will definetely end on a much worse note then one with a lack of firearms. My front line of defense is and always will be the pack of Shepherds I own, my alpha bitch being a hefty 115 pounds now. In all reality though, nothing is worth losing your life or the lives of your loved ones over something that grows out of the ground because you arent willing to accept losing your possessions. :vader1:

Medical Pot Advocate Shot, wounds robber at home
An outspoken advocate for medical marijuana was wounded early Monday but managed to shoot a burglar at a Kirkland house where he grew pot legally.

Sheriff's deputies are looking for two other suspects who may have been involved in the attempted home-invasion robbery.

Detectives also are investigating whether the attempted home invasion is tied to a similar incident in January at the Kirkland house.

The home in the 11400 block of Juanita Drive Northeast -- part of unincorporated King County near Kirkland -- is known to deputies for legal medical marijuana grows.

About 4:45 a.m. Monday, a woman called 911 saying there were intruders in the house and that her boyfriend was shot, a sheriff's office spokesman said. Responding deputies were preparing to go onto the property when dispatchers received another call from a man saying he'd been shot -- a man later identified as a robbery suspect.

That 19-year-old Renton man and the 59-year-old resident, Steve Sarich, had traded shots, according to investigators. The teen was hit multiple times and rushed to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Sarich, who has publicly advocated for medical marijuana laws for years, was taken to a hospital for minor wounds from shotgun pellets, according to deputies.

Unfortunatly, when punk-ass little theifs are willing to kill you for a few plants, its better to be safe than to be sorry. Steve is a friend of mine and i'm glad as hell to hear he is doing o.k. He told me the kid damn near blew his face off. This is his eighth home invasion in 13 months. If it wern't for the fact steve was armed, id hate to think what might have happened....

thats messed up,so if someone grows then they can't own a gun? is that in the law books anywhere? so i guess you can't have 2 hobbies? so if you're a hunter and you end up needing meds then you would have to give up you're hunting gear just so you can grow and have meds?

so if you grow meds then you are not allowed to protect yourself? ever heard the saying don't bring a knife to a gun fight? i know that if i did'nt give a shit about people and i was a robber thief whatever i would'nt let a couple of dogs and a bat bother me lmao.

it's funny when i see people talk about dogs,i mean they can be good to have and all but i would'nt bet the bank on them.my cuz had a staffshire pit the dog was huge around 115lbs or so.my cuz is'nt to bright tho as he was bragging about how his dog protects his home and this and that. he started hanging around these 2 black guys in the apt above his.he always had weed and would share it with everyone.he was trying to grow his own and i guess they saw it in the back room or something.he goes to work 1 day only to come home with his "big bad ass" dog knocked out in front of the door to the grow room.needless to say all his equipment and plants were gone.
