Hey Guys,
Have just got myself a grow tent for veg and would just like to know if anyone has any advice or tips so i can learn from others mistakes and not have to make them myself lol
Its a professional growlush mylar 1.2m x 1.2m x 2m which will have a oscillating fan inside and i have an 8" exhaust fan using a passive system (sucking air through the intake using only the exhaust fan).
The light used is a high output 400w MH.
Any advice or techniques are greatly appreciated guys :)
Thanks

Hi tristan1986
This is my second tent grow - I think one of the biggest issues is ventilation - do you have a fan sucking air out of the tent? (or maybe you said that already?) I installed a 4" carbon filter with a pretty strong fan and it works perfectly, not to mention the smell is completely gone. I got a $25 thermostat / hydrostat that remotely monitors the temps and humidity so I am not constantly opening and closing the tent to check them. Depending on the time of year, I open/close the different built-in vent flaps to control the temps.
There are lots of tips on this board also, just do a few searches.
I love my tent and my first product turned out way better than I expected
Good luck!

Thanks Heaps Mate, thats exactly the sorta stuff i was chasing.
Ive got myself a thermostat / hydrostat aswell which was orignally for my grow room but i ended up upgrading to a wireless type one which means i can monitor my room from the lounge room even in the dark period. The old one would be perfect to attach to the side of the tent with velcro or something and the little sensor can hang inside :)
I have an 8" fan which will be the extraction fan and the extraction process will suck fresh air from the intake (no fan though). Ill see how the temps go and ill install a intake if not happy with the temps.
Ill look into carbon fans if the scent becomes a problem but since the tent is only for veg ill have to wait and see
Thanks for the info mate, REP shared+
I do realise i can do searches although sadly when i search grow tent or similar it brings up EVERY grow which has those magic words in them even if i select thread titles lol
Thanks ;)

downgrading from a 3.5 K grow to a grow tent myself... I'll have a 600 watter in the tent. Didn't we used to have some really awesome tent threads on this site? I'd like to learn how the pros do it.. some you work extremely well with not a ton of space and I'd like to view a grow journal from one of the guys who has it down.
I'm a bit torn as to how to run it. Some people are saying my yields will be alot better if I veg 2-3 weeks, but you lose out on entire yield per year compared to a true SOG... 20-25 under a 600 watter with 5-6 days of vegging before inducing flower.

You're welcome - I should have said my instrument is wireless - the only way to go. Funny I thought the same thing while my first plants were in veg (about the smell) and then one day the wife comes home and says "my car smells like weed" - uh oh... I guess I got used to the smell in the garage but within the next few days I would open the garage and you could smell it OUTSIDE.... better do something quick, you know? (The plants were less than three weeks in) So I found a good deal on a four inch filter/fan but it looks like you need something bigger for the 8". I am using passive intake and that seems to be working. I have my second grow in right now - mentioned this in another thread- left them in veg three extra days as I didnt want to turn the lights off due to this huge snowstorm we just had (temps around 15F) - so they are frickin huge now (16 days total in veg from a 3" clone) - like 20 inches so I flipped them last night and had to use a space heater in the tent. The purples don't mind the cold too much but getting below 50F I think maybe not so good?
take care
