how do you make a bowl for a wood pipe

hey everyone my name is levi i have a wooden pipe that looks like a regular 1 whole piece wood pipe but even tho the place for the bowl is hollowed out it still needs a bowl cause i would find smoking the wood as harmful so should i get something to make a bowl out of and put in it or should i just put a screen in there and smoke or what should i do

p.s. i dont use tinfoil and i have no glass i just need to know what i can put in there to prevent the wood from burning

Unless it has sentimental value I would say toss the wood pipe, and go to the local head shop and get a nice glass piece. In the meantime an apple makes a great pipe.....

My mom smokes out of an old wooden pipe with just a metal screen in it, never had a problem with the wood burning. I'd say as long as it's a hard wood it shouldn't burn but it will leave a slight taste...
