i am a first time grower, and i need some advice.
i have 2 plants growing in 2 separate pots. im using standard miracle grow potting soil. i water the plants with deionized water about every other day, im using a florescent light for plants i bought at walmart, and once a week or so i feed them with miracle grow bloom booster. they have been growing for almost 3 weeks now, and they arnt very big at all, thats why im a lil worried.
also, a white fluffy looking mold started growing on the outside of the pots, and im not sure why. any pointers?

Looks like you need more light and it appears you might be getting a bit of stretch too.
I'm useing 100w cfl's, about 3" from the top of the plant and even though my plants are the same age as yours, they are twice the size.
MG is ok, but I only water when the plant feels light when I pick it up. Also I stick my finger in the soil and check to see how dry it is. It's good to let the soil dry b4 watering. Your plants look like they are too small to need water every other day, and might be the source of your mold.
Hope this helps.

You need more light, much much more light. That little bulb isn't putting off anywhere near enough lumens for adequate photosynthesis, and that's why your babies aren't growing. Spend a few bucks, get a decent 150 watt HPS at least, if not a 400.
Your plants will love you for it.
The mold is there because you're keeping the soil too moist. Allow it to dry completely between waterings, you can lift the pot and tell when it's feeling light.
