when is it time to harvest

i have asked a lot of people and i want to know when is the best time to harvest?
right now my tricrones are cloudy white, are they going to turn amber or should i pick thanks for your help

When the trichomes turn cloudy your at peak THC (from what I gather). As they turn amber, they convert from THC to ???(another three letter acronym):D

From what I understand. This second chemical is thought to make the high last longer, but NOT actually get you high on it's own.

Some will answer ZERO percent amber, and cut now. Some will answer 20% amber, cut in a few days. Plus a small percentage will even say 50% amber.

Question is (to me anyway),... Have you been flushing?

I've never read that anywhere. From what I have read. Pure amber is NO high at all.

Sativa is what has a heady high. Indica is couch lock. Naturally, differing percentages of Indica -vs- sativa, can change how that works as well.

A study I read about, a few months ago, was done back in the 60s. From the study they found people got really high, but for a short period with all cloudy. However from high amber none felt much at all! The percentage of amber linked directly to how long the high lasted, but HOW high you get dropped as amber increased.

Of course, when asking this question. You'll always get MANY differing answers. Which is why the OP had trouble finding out in the first place. :D

This is a topic that everyone has an opinion about. It depends alot on what the strain of cannabis is that you are growing.

In my experience, I grow mostly sativa strains....i like to get them about 50-60% amber and then harvest. I try to stick to the 8 week rule in flower. Give or take a few days depending on what i see. I may not be a high yeilder yet, but my bud always has a good, happy but relaxing high. :jointsmile:

I honestly think it just takes time and practice to learn how to do it the way you want.....

By harvesting earlier in the window your buds tend to produce more of a cerebral head high, an effect much more pronounced in Sativas than Indicas. A head high is more psychedelic in nature, providing you with a pleasant mental ?up? state, often ideally suited for social situations when you still need to have your wits and plenty of energy.

If you choose to harvest later in the window, your buds produce more of a body high, which is conversely more pronounced in Indicas than in Sativas. A body high is similar to a narcotic ?down? effect, usually associated with being ?stoned?. A down type of high is often desired in the late evening to calm nerves and drift into sleep.

So this says BOTH what I said(indica/sativa) AND what Faddinator said(head/couch).:thumbsup:
