Planted 4 beans on 3/1/10 in 4 inch pots, MG potting soil, CFLs
3/5/10(PM) all 4 have just broke the surface of the dirt.
Will try to take weekly pics and post them as I can

I'll be watching! I long for the day that I am free to grow my own. Toxic Blue F2 sounds like a color for a space ship in the future. Does it come with a flux capacitor?

One that belongs to Hotblack Desiato maybe? :D

The folks who have tried Toxic Blue like it as well as Nor Cal Daddys Girl, maybe a little more. Its got a lot of the same charicteristics as NCDG but with some body stone. From what I understand, Toxic Blue and NCDG are related in their genetics. :D

Pics at 1 week from planting the seeds. The aluminium duct tape around the bottom is sticky side out.... I have a problem with wood roaches and some other pests from time to time... they eat the new sprouts. Now they get stuck on the tape like fly paper.... no more eaten seedlings. :D

I can't wait to see when it flowers. They just look like they'll be "juicy". Do you know the sex of the seeds before planting?

All I know about the seeds is that they are Toxic Blue F2, and that Image Reapers Nor Cal Daddys Girl are related. I am hoping that one of the 4 comes up male so I can make some more seeds. This strain ROCKS!! Nice heady high with some body stone. From experience, I don't do more that 2 hits unless I want to have to turn off the 'puter and TV cause there are too many colors

Ok, just got done transplanting.... they were pretty well root bound. I didn't water them yesterday to make it easier to transplant them into their new cribs. I will probably top them(fim) sometime this week to increase the yield. In any case, here is the week 3 pic for your perusal. :D

Week 4 pics... its almost looking like there are 2 different phenos going. The 2 in the back seem to be much different from the ones in the front... differences in the physical plants, and different smells. This could be interesting.

one of the plants got a little close to the lights... in any case, this is week 5 since the seeds were planted... there has been a lot of growth this week. they are really looking healthy. Its going to be the end of April before I put them into flower unless the plants show me otherwise.... it may be sooner.
At this point I have not yet added any additional nutes... just tap water, MG potting soil and CFLs. So far so good.
let me know what y'all think.

I was using the *non-moisture control* 3 month, and for some reason this time I picked up the 6 month stuff.... it seems to be working very well. The plants are loving it. They are growing so fast, I may end up putting them into flower a lot sooner than I normally do. I will normally leave in veg for 2 months from the time of seed planting. Once I put them into flower, I will start adding molasses in every other watering.
BTW... where are you in MS?? I am in the Pinebelt area.

Ah i see, thats what im using tha MG non moisture control 3 month stuff, i have 2 plants that i planted march 1 they sprouted arount the 4th and 5th those are both outside right now in tha ground. I have 6 others still inside 2 seedlings and the rest are just pushing up out the dirt, so they are all a day or 2 ahead of eash other. Oh i stay in tha southhaven area close to tunica, im sure you know where Tunica is Northeast mississippi.

Sorry I have not been able to post pics of the babies lately, the real world has had me runnin from can to can't. Sufice it to say that they are getting very much big. 6 weeks old and the 4 plants have created a 2 foot tall sea of green in my cab. I gotta reconfigure some stuff this weekend, I will post pics when the changes have been made...... changes for the better most assured.

Wicked fine results so far, Steve. A very good example of what can be done with hardware store soil and lighting. You're not using any kind of additional nutients now, right? What, if any (beside molasses) will you be using later in the grow?

along with the molasses, I use a little Shultz liquid.....about a dropper full per gallon. although with this 6 month MG, I may not have to add anything other than the molasses. One of the things I am doing once I have time to go to Lowes is to add another light bar to the fixture I built. So far, it is looking like I have 2 girls and 2 males. I want to make some seeds with this batch so I can continue this strain.

Forgive me Father, for I have sinned... I have been too long in updating my grow log. ;)
The three in the cab are all female, I have one male outside and waiting for it to ripen so I can pollenate a couple of branches for seed. The are currently just a day shy of 2 months from planting the seeds, and were put into flower on April 17th. I still have not added another light bar to the top fixture, but I will when I have time. I have attached pics for your perusal and enjoyment.
If these go as the previous grows have, I would expect a yield of better than a half pound from each plant.:D

OK.... I pollenated one of the 3 ladies with the male..... at least I hope so, and hopefully the other 2 ladies will remain virgin. ;)
In case anybody is wondering, the one I pollenated was taken outside where the male was, the male was cut down and shaken all over the lady, then disposed of. I created a small yellow pollen cloud all over the lady. Left her outside overnight, washed her off good with water, let her air dry... now she is back under the lights with her sisters.

Keep it simple, its a weed.....
I start the seeds in 4 inch pots with MG potting soil. after a week and a half they need to be transplanted into 5 gallon buckets, again filled with MG potting soil. I am using CFLs for lighting, and use a box fan for ventilation in the cab. When the lights are on, the temp inside the cab is 80 - 82F.
If you read the entire thread, there are pics and discriptions.

hey Steve, your plants look yummy! I don't see that anyone answered your question about how to tell when the plant with seeds is ready; maybe you found the answer somewhere else? I suggest that you check the color of some of the seeds. If they are all still white, they are immature and won't sprout. You need some that have turned brown/black/speckled/etc. Those are the little mommas that will grow for you.
Good job man!
I was also very interested to read your grow log because: most ppl on this board seem to suggest that plants be transplanted from one tiny pot to the next almost-as-tiny pot. Then they end up at harvest with a few grams per plant. But you ... you went straight from popping the seed into a 5 gal bucket, and you end up with many oz per plant. (And under the lowly CFL, to boot!) I guess I'm lovin' it because this is the way I've always done it, too. LOL :rasta: Hey - you end up with more of the good stuff, is there any other point to the exercise? I've been trying and trying to understand why they recommend doing it the "tiny pots" method, still don't get it.

Thanks man as i needed the answer about the seeds myself:thumbsup: But as to your question about re potting. The more i re pot the faster i see the plant grow and builds a better canapy for catching light, but at the same time i believe ya do what works for you. Know i need to go back and read the first page, lol Rep given,
Very nice plant man. Very healthy looking and cfl's:thumbsup:i use em too,

Won't know how the smoke is for a couple of weeks. Its still gotta dry and spend some time in the cure jars. I got the one in the pic and the seed plant harvested yesterday, hopefully this eveing I wil be able to get the the last one done.
The next grow I will be doing more Toxic Blue, as well as Nor Cal Daddys Girl. I am hoping that one of them will come up male so I can cross them.

MS, that right there looks to be some solid bud! Nice to see MS representing so well; I remember reading a High Times awhile back, and some band was asked where the best weed was grown and where the worst weed was grown. In their collective opinion, California grew the best weed, and Mississippi grew the worst. It appears you would single-handedly change their minds. Fine Work! Keep it up! And, be good out there!
