Hey everyone,

New to this forum, already on other well known forums but couldn't get any of the answers I was looking for so decided to come on here to the Irish section and hopefully get a few replies from experienced growers, although it looks a bit dead on here to be honest, but anyway here it goes..

I plan to do an outdoor grow this year, I am a first time grower and don't know much about growing apart from what I have read online, here is what I plan on doing:

I am going to grow an autoflowering strain like lowryder 2 (Other recommendations are welcomed) , I will probably germinate the seeds at the end of April, sow them all in big seperate pots full of cow manuer (dried out) or compost, leave them out in the sun during the day time hoping we will get sun and leave them in a cheap argos greenhouse at night time to protect them from the rain and wind, and that's pretty much it. Will it work?

Obviously I will go to visit the plants everyday, to make shore they have enough water and nutes etc.

So that's my plan, any tips, advice etc would be greatly appreciated!!

(I don't believe growing weed is as complicated as some make it out to be because at the end of the day it is just a weed!)

It is not just a weed, it is your medicine. treat it like a weed, you will get weed grade product, treat it like it's your medicine, you will get chronic meds. your choice

well if ya want to grow lowryders outside ya will have to wait till about end of may to plant out or even june
cause the long term weather forecast is bad that the ground wont be warm enough for the lowryders.
if ya do it before then wont get such good returns, they grow better in warm ground
but if going to grow out side need to go prepare the ground now
if ya get ur ass to aldi you can pick up a ph meter and stuff dead cheap
test the soil after the nutes, compost have been in for a few weeks
then u can adjust the ph with lime and stuff,to let it wash in
cant do it at the same time cause can get a chemical reaction that can be bad for you and soil round you
but still have to start them off in doors, but why dont you grow some other types like early girl and hollands hoop/hope(depends on the seed supplier which name it is) hollands hope/hoop can give up to 11oz form my own grows wild but depens on the weather
because we get long days here for so long, the plant doesnt start to flower late in the year. then we have windy weather which the plants dont like and can cause some to stress out and produce male pollen sacks( sort of a survial mode)
i would go with the early girl as it is an autoflower and pretty forgiving for a newbie grow
as for going back everyday only do it if no one will ever see you
but better of just letting it get on with it
and dont really need nutes if ya start with good soil and if growing in a pot with the lowryders use one to start them indoors then use to harden them by taking them out 1st. then ya can transplant them as they dont like change it stunts their growth.
this may sound mad but if want to grow in ireland outside and wild best not planting non auto flowering untill late may early june they will be smaller but would be able to harvest mid oct early september
between then ya can be growing the lowryders
any more info just ask
hope helps:D

Hi Chongdude

This is just a summary of my first time grow experience last year and like yourself I don't know much about growing apart from what I have read online. If you check out the Outdoor Growing in Ireland topic last year youâ??ll see some of my photos. I bought 5 feminised white widow seeds from Irish Seed Bank but only 2 grew out.. My order this year was cancelled cause some bastard burned them out!

Thank god for the good sunny weather last year the plants grew out very well in a little plastic green house and the nutrients I added were slow release fertilizer pellets from LIDL containing mostly nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium. So I started in May and started a 12/12 schedule on the the 24th of June. By putting plants into a windowless shed at 8 in the evening and back out at 8 in the morning.

Basically I went away to a festival for 3days and left plants in the plastic tent thing and came back to bud rot! Poor ventilation and humidity too high! Harvested the plants early but still saved some of the crop (quality smoke lasted months shared it out with all my friends got 3 jam jars worth). Iâ??m gonna give it a go again this year pick up on what I've learned and strive to do better maybe invest in a glass house! Its as complicated as you want it to be and everyone has to start somewhere. In my opinion its all down to experience besides if my half assed effort worked Iâ??m sure youâ??ll do infinitely better!
