Thanks for the ideas with my burned buds, I have tied them away from the light. and things look better.

Here's new one.

I'm almost 4 weeks into flowering, I've been trying to keep the Total Dissolved Solids at about 1800 ppm.

This morning I checked and the PPM was suddenly over 2000 (my meter maxes at 2000).

I had figured PPM would diminish over time as the plant absorbed nutrients.

Any idea what it could be?

I changed the water and washed the parts with H2O2, 2 weeks ago, so I don't think it's algae.

Thanks again.

PPM's do not diminish they increase.

Here's what's happennigng. You mix nutrients and get it to 1800. Great.

Now your plants use some nutrients and give off waste. Lets say almost the same.

However your plants use water way faster than nutes. Plants drink just one gallon and nutrient levels go way up. Top off with one gallon of ph'ed water and levels back out to about 1800.

This is why you top off with plain ph'ed water. Whenyou have added as much as your rez then change . So 5 gallon rez after I add 5 gallons plain ph'ed water. Time to change.

Thanks!

These things seem so obvious after the've been explained. I feel like, 'duh I should've known that'.

Thanks again. I'm sure I'll have plenty more 'duh' moments.
