How many plants can I grow with 85,000 Watt "The DOMINATOR" sky spotlight built in the peek of the roof? Widen the beam, shine it down. Would that set off a red flag at the electrical co? This lamp can run on single phase 220, 120 Amp line! The temp is nice for veg, perhaps they could make a conversion bulb for flower.

No one would by those to grow for personal use. The only thing youre trying to gain here is MORE light, the reason you're probably doing this is because of a commercial grow. Now I think you should rethink the light if you're not commercially growing. If you are commercially growing to sell on the streets, I boo you. If youre fully intending to personally grow with it then damn, I would be more then interested to see these monstors, but IMO you just dont need that much.

This proves that if a grower sees K temps in the right range, ANY light might be considered. Roflmao

So, the ways I figured it, are these. 5000 lumens per Sq ft,... And 11,000 Lumens per Sq ft (what my bosses lumen meter says outside).

At 5000 LPSF it would cover 420 (what a number, is it destiny?:D) Square feet or enough space to grow 168 plants with 2.5sf each.

At 11,000 LPSF (Sun intensity?) it would cover 190.9 square feet or 76 plants with 2.5 sf each.

I've felt the heat generated by one of these. It's quite intense. On a cold Colorado night you can feel the heat like a summer sun from well over 20 yards off when aimed at you. So height is key. You'd need to mount this VERY high to allow the light and intense heat to dissipate enough for growing. My personal guess would be a few stories, maybe even 6-8 stories high. If you mounted this that high. You could grow giant indoor trees that might need 10 square feet each.

This heat AND the distance you'd need to spread the light to cover such a large area makes me think this unworthy of further thought. ;)

I'll admit I found the posting very amusing to say the least.

Haha, makes me think of growing a football field full of weed with the huge MH lights they use at like 40 feet...

Not to mention that having that thing on for one hour costs around $10, so one night of 18/6 costs about $180. LoL. So that's like $8,100 for a 45 day veg cycle. Sounds worth it?
