I agree with Str8..
I want to add that in most cases if you transplant to larger pots as necessary you may never need to add nutrients as there seems to enough to grow without. In fact, if I add nutes it seems to burn many of my plants. I am experimenting on that now. Essentially for the last year all I used was the FFOF and no nutes. I am experimenting with adding nutes and having burn issues. Again I say transplanting is giving nutes.

absolutely correct~fresh soil = fresh nutrients available...which is why i cut mine 50/50 with chunky coco for aeraiton and drainage and then i can add nutes...i have a friend who i grow a couple plants for and she is very sensitive to any type of chemicals so i do "a clean grow" in a couple of pots out side of my tray and they do not get as big in straight soil and plain water but in the beginnig i get some nute burn on them it seems on some of the lower leaves when i put them into flower mode.

My soil may drain better but I like to use FF Happy Frog soil supplement in 50/50 with the existing soil. For bigger holes I usually add some FFOF and time release fertilizer, sulphur, calcium, bat guano, seaweed pellets and such. I add nutes on an irregular basis but as long as I mix the nutes and add them individually to each plant from a jug I don't see any burn. If I add the nutes to the water tank the plants at the end of the watering line die.
