firs thing in diagnosing any issue you may have starts with checking your Ph of the soil....but i would cal mag or just sprinkle about a teaspoon of epsom salt on the soil before the next watering and be patient....but knowing your soil PH is the important thing... 6.2-6.6

Great thanks for the advice, i am going to get some epsom salts lateron, so a teaspoon should do the trick? If it isnt MG will it harm the plants at all by adding a teaspoon?

no...just don't put too much on....i used it before i started using cal mag

epsom salt is a magnesium sulfate and i beleive it has some iron in it as well and it will help green up your plants if that is what is lacking!

Perfect, thanks very much for the advice, i am due for watering tomorrow so i will prepare this epsom salts for them.

One thing, when watering i add aquasafe which is an aquarium dechlorinator and gets rid of chlorine and heavy metals, you dont think this has anything to do with it? It stated it nutralises heavy metals and also chlorine.

if they are growing each day?...I wouldn't sweat it, yet...probably a strain thang..go easy with the salt...very, very easy

lose the aquasafe

Yes, they are growing each day, and dont seem to bad being 2 weeks in, i think i will ditch the aquasafe, im worried about the chlorine though?!

I wouldn't worry about the chlorine...unless, you're getting your water out of a swimming pool...:D

haha, ok i understand. I know aquasafe nutralises copper, zinc and lead. Maybe this is why i am having issues? Also is it correct that our plants need chlorine anyway?

Also around here, our water is very hard

try and figure out the Ph of your water...and go from there...6.7 - 7.3 is excellent...

Also around here, our water is very hard

put your water in the container you usually use but leave the cap off and if their is any cholrine it will gas off by letting yur water sit for at least 24hours....hard water...SM90...3 ml/gal.....or 4 liters in your world....it is good for the root system and will help soften the water!

Thanks for all the help guys and quick responses i really appriciate it. Just did a ph test and it came prity much bang on 7 maybe 7.1. also on my aquarium strips it has KH ppm is about 250 and GH is about 180ppm. I think i am going to ditch the aquasafe, just use water that is warmed to room temp, and just leave it for 24 hours, i have a bucket sitting next to me now warming up for watering tomorrow, shall i still add epsom salts or leave this now to see if it was the aquasafe? Also how long does a plant take to show signs? Ie, if i add epsom salts, and if my water is now right how long will the plant take to show its getting better? Also i mist the plants day and night, and this has also been with aquasafe so i am thinking maybe to stop this or do it now with water from the tap that has been sitting there for a while

epsom salt will help bring the PH of the soil down a little...so yes do it put it on but use sparingly....no more than a a tsp per pot:thumbsup:

it is important to keep you PH in check..if out of the 6.2-6.6 (for soil)range she has food in the soil but cannot take it in if the Ph is out....like being a fat man starving at the all you can eat deli and his mouth is taped shut!:hippy:

Hi again,

Well i decided to get some epsom salts, becuase i had only watered the day before and they wont need watering for another few days i decided to folair feed. I got 1 gal of water and added half a teaspoon of epson salts to it and stired well. I then filled up my spray gun, it only holds 1 litre and then sprayed a fine mist over the plants, prob only like 200ml was actually used.

Next day there was some burning on the outer edges of the leaves, and i cant really see if it has worked to be honest. maybe i didnt do enough? See pics of the burning.

The yellow tips on new growth is much worse.

Not sure whats going on really? Ph is about 6.8

hi busybee, thanks for the reply, i started off with a basic soil for seedlings, and after 2 weeks under the light i repotted in to larger pots, and then used 35% batmix, 35% seedling mix and 30% perlite, its been a week since then and the last watering i watered with 1/5th of the biobizz grow stuff. I had to admit i think alot of my issues may be related to NPK diff but how long does it take and should i be adding more of the grow stuff?
