Well my friends, this is my first post here. I have been lurking in the background for quite a while and have learned a great deal just from reading as many of these informative posts as I can. I have taken the step and made my first batch of "Green Dragon" following Master Wu's recipe. It was a bit weaker that I had hoped, but as someone in these posts said, It had a bit of a bite so I'm satisfied with my first attempt. However...(here we go),
I didn't cook long enough to reduce the alcohol by half as directed even though it was 20 minutes, and also, I strained it through a coffee filter. there was considerable brown matter left in the filter. I tried smoking some, but all I got for the effort was a cough. The strained liquid however was just as pretty an emerald green as you could ask for, and pretty clear too. By clear, I mean free of particulate matter. I've read that it should be a brownish green, so my question is, "Did I strain away something of value? Thanks for any info and thanks for this site.
