So I went to way to Way to Grow for a few extra black 5g buckets today. they were out. cripes. I guess someone came and bought them out this morning.
I then went to the other hydro store and the guy said there is a statewide bucket shortage. WTF?
someone must be setting up a hell of a garden!

Funny, same thing happens to me with grow bags. I go in for 5 gal, they have none. I then look for 3 gal..oops none of those either.
I started ordering them online 25 packs. I got tired of having to go to several places to get something this basic.

shoooot i knows they have em at the wally mart or the home depot, lowes, otooles is now hydro friendly. improvise and adapt. ahh life on the farm taught me that. i did so much with so little i now believe i can do almost anything with nothing. check your nurseries they are changing to meet the climate in the mmj world.

I hear ya on the buckets, who wants to use a home depot or wally world bucket thats not light proof, yeah you can waste a lot of time and duct tape to make it light proof but in the end its a huge waste of time and not cost effective either.
Although thats not as bad as being told you're light controller will be delivered to the store in 8 hours and then you call up to confirm its there and it was never ordered, and it'll take a week or 2 to get one in. But then they offered me a refurbished unit, lol, so i get down there and its the wrong model but I didn't check it before I drove home. I call em up and hes like yeah that's the older model, must be why its been sitting around here so long. Well gee thanks a lot!
So I went to evergreen hydroponics and they had it in stock, weird how the smaller shop with less business have things in stock, haha.

Just went to Rocky Mountain Hydroponics & Organics in Golden this weekend and they are out of 5 gallon buckets too.
BTW, they were very helpful and took the time with each customer to answer questions. They weren't extremely busy so it wasn't a long wait. :D

Way to Grow in Fort Collins is ALWAYS out of grow bags. I stop in every 7-10 days and they've never had them in stock.

I have given up on trying to get bags from my local hydro store. I order them online now HTG has them and they are cheaper than my local store even with S&H.
It only takes a few days to get them so I order ahead and in quanity.

I bet you're serious aren't you????? A fool proof way for you to find out is to put the orange bucket over you're head and then look up at a 1,000w if you have one. You're probably referring to a cfl not being able to penetrate through it. Hd buckets are damn near transparent, you can see you're hand through the bucket if its touching or within a few inches from it. Use aluminum tape as duct tape takes layers and layers to light proof.

Just like Turbo said guys just be sure to wrap those bad boys with some tape if need be. Some of those buckets are as thin as paper. HTG supply has allll the good stuff for guys like us. Respectable people as well, I have the pleasure of doing business with them in person

If you're concerned about light, you can put any bucket into a black plastic trash bag saving paint and tape

That saves tape but it probably doesnt seal the light 100%, I'm just going by being able to see my hand through a black plastic bag.
