Hello all growers! I have been doing my study and research for way too long now, and I need to get this started finnaly! There are so many thingsa to learn and so many ways to do things for a grow.

Anyway, I have learned a lot from searching through forums, and getting advice and help from growers. My question is this. How many sites would be ideal for the grow I want? I will have a 3X3X7 foot space for my flowering room. I will have a Quantum digital ballast, a Ushio 600 watt HPS bulb, and the SunSystem Super Sun 2-6 inch air cooled reflector. I will have an aeroponic system similar to Pirates. I will have a 3X3 grow table, but cannot figure out the best way for spacing plants. I have 3 ideas. Please anyone that can, look at these, and give me some advice on my best option. Thank you al!

These are my ideas. Please give me some help and/or advice on what you people think...

36X36 Space
2 Inch Net Pots
36 Plants
4 Inch Space Between Each Plant
2 Inch Space Between Plants And Edges
36 Inch Total For All Measurements.

OR......

36X36 Space
2 Inch net Pots
36 Plants
3 Inch Space Between Each Plant, And Each Outside Plant And Walls
36X36 For All Measurements

All way over my head/budget but seems you have put a alot of thought into it and buying lots of good equipment, so you are prolly way ahead of my experience level anyway.
But from what i know those spaces will only be good for small/young plants, you are gonna need to allow more room for the growth even if you lst.
I think i have heard/read on this forum to allow 1sf per plant, but have also seen some really tight little jungles in pics, so my approach is prolly way off. I only have tried a few plants in about the same area and 3-4feet high.

Hawaiian pidgin math says; 36 no gozintas 9.:D

Not really sure what you are asking here.
You only have 9 square feet, and not much headroom.
5' max height with the lamp and clearance.:(
If you cram 9 plants into that space it will be very crowded.
I would not try to raise more than 5 plants in that space.

So, what am I missing here?

Aloha and good luck.:)

I will have a 3X3X7 foot space for my flowering room.

If you meant to say veg room then i suppose it would be suffecient. Try about 1/2 the amount of plants or less.:smokin:

I want to do a SOG grow, and the video I watched had this setup with a lotta plants for the SOG grow. My strain will be a short to medium height strain. I posted 3 options. Which one is best?

It is hard to do a Sea Of Green in one table. Your nutes change and you can not flush. SOG, half of the plants are 4 to 5 weeks behind so you get a harvest once a month. Half come out half new go in.

I would go with the 3 inch netpots.

In a setup with that many an autoflower would work great. Whatever you put in there needs to be put in flower at about 8 inches tall or 4 sets of branches to keep them really short.

Do the math, 36 sticks with 1/4 ounce or so on each. About 9 ounces. Sounds good.

I don't understand the reason people think if they have 36 plants in a small area that their harvest will be more than if they have 5 or 6. Obviously, the yield depends more on the SIZE of the plants than the NUMBER of plants going into flowering. I would give each plant 1 sq. ft. .... that would be 9 plants in a 3x3 area.

Your right. This is really meant for autoflowers. Some see it as faster with less mess. No big leaf trim or clean up and no canopy blocking light. And little to no veg. It can also get away from you real fast and then you got a mess of overgrow and smaller harvest.

In about a 3x3 we run 12 plants. At least 3 of those are runts and have nothing at harvest.

Fish83 please do not get doscouraged. I'm also trying to get my plants in order to do a 3x3 36 plant sog. 2 inch net pots will be fine and 2 inches of space is logical. Remember one thing - Your harvest will be larger than that of 9 larg plants.

Why?

Because fish is going to have equality over the quality of his end product and he is going to flower small clones. These clones should be NO MORE than 3 to 4 inches tall with a fully established root system. Remember to cut the tap root in the cube to promote side growth of the root structure and this way you can guarantee that the plants grow equally! Once you see roots FLOWER! Do not veg with this many plants as all you want are tops and nothing else.

Under a 1000WHID these setup produce well over 1.5 pounds good luck and God speed to you.

As for the rest of you guys. You have to understand that we as growers like to try new things and it is best to encourage than persuade someone to try something else when you yourselves demonstrated a lack of familiarity with a large micro grow which has been PROVEN to out-do your basic run of the mill home setup. Good luck to you all and God speed!

"as for the rest of you guys" :wtf: maybe someone needs to go back and read the thread and then maybe will understand that from what I see noone was trying to discourage anything, they were trying to make things a lil less complicated since the exp factor is quite low. I know back when I was first starting out I wish someone would have told me to just do a 2-3 plant grow, so much easier to learn when you have less things to watch
