I make Bong Art out of liquor bottles.

it started as an art project and now people want to buy them.

because they are art, and I am advertising and selling them as such, can I be sued for the fact that they're made of old liquor bottles by the liquor companies?

even though they ARE art, will I get in trouble by those who see them only as smoking devices?

all help is appreciated, thank you in advance!

Honestly I do not know... but.... In regards to "art" as in art friends of mine are putting up in galleries and working on in their studios, I have seen many installation pieces, multi-media pieces, painting, drawings, etc that utilize commercial products, discarded remains of products (packages, bottles, etc) or images of these products and not one of them has ran into any legal problems. Not that any of that means one thing since I do not have a concrete answer based on fact or law.

I don't think there is a law against recycling old bottles for crafts, even if you sell them. I've seen stretched out coke bottles, necklaces/bracelets with bottle caps on them, and plenty of other "craft" items that display alcohol/beer logos.
Either that or it's just one of those things that doesn't get enforced.

I wouldn't worry about it until your "business" gets big enough that you need employees.
