Hey all,

Please help me! I got some plants a few days ago, and I have seen some amazing growth in the few days I've had them....I'm using soil and I have House & Garden nutrient line. I'm in the vegg stage and will be for 2.5 more weeks.

This is my first grow, and I guess I'm just freaking out....I check on my girlies more than a baby gets checked on in a nursery!!!

K---so where the new growth is, the color of the leaves is a lightish green...is this normal? There seems to be a little lightening on the other plants but not much.... I have 1 grapefruit and 2 kali mist plants. On the grapefruit, there is just literally one leaf on one of the stems that is turning brown on the tip on the middle leaf. I don't know what this means. Please look at my pics and tell me ur opinion on how the girls look.

Any and all input is very much appreciated!!!

They look pretty good, maybe not 100% but it's hard to say what's wrong with no info...

What kind of water are you using (tap, distilled, reverse osmosis?) and how often do you water?

Are you feeding them nutrients, what kind, and how often?

How long have they been in those pots?

Better yet would be to fill out the troubleshooting form at the top of this forum. Just from looking at the pics I'd say they might be rootbound, which will give you that over-watered look plus leaf discoloration. But, this is just a guess. Still wouldn't hurt anything to slide those containers off and check. Just wait till the soil is almost dry, place your palm on top, flip the plant upside-down, and remove the container (give it a tap or two if it doesn't come off easily).

Yo, that troubleshooting form is in my sig as well!

I gotta say, to me this looks a simple case of over watering(you should be waiting about 3 days every watering, or when the top 3" of soil is DRY). it looks like you need to transplant to a bigger pot as well.

ALSO! Bigtops asked about nutes... I think thats part of the problem too. Probably need to start her on a 25% strength solution to get some of that color back.

good luck

I don't know about the dis-coloration, but imo the ladies are over watered.

i don't think it is over watering...i have watered them once since I got them this past tuesday with distilled water and house and garden nutrients. right now the two kali mist plants are about 10" tall and the grapefruit is about 13". I guess looks are deceiving, because the pots are 10 gallon pots. I just put them in there on tuesday when I got them all.....does that help at all?

a ten gallon pot is too big at this point. It will just retain the water, which is why your plants are showing signs of over watering.

Also, don't use distilled water. Plants do not like it.

This applies to hydro and soil alike
