So I am sure you've all read/heard that THC only shows up in your blood 3-5 days after smoking even for a heaver user. This is seen on many charts etc. But beware.........
If you are like me you smoke a lot. Like 2-3 blunts a day. A good amount. Your body and fat cells are just seeping with THC.
I took the blood test route after abstaining for 7 DAYS. I still came back positive.
I realize there are many contributions to why this might have occurred:
- I exercise. The most likely scenario that happened is my body was still metabolizing all the THC in my system even a week after abstaining, therefore releasing into my blood daily. Fat cells were being used for energy and therefore the THC was being released into my blood.
- My multivitamin caused the positive result. Riboflavin is very much so present in my vitamin.
- Bad luck. Maybe those charts are wrong, who knows.
What I did wrong:
- I exercised an entire week before my test. This got my fat cells burning and metabolism working, but unfortunately it can cause more THC to be released into the system. BLAGH
- I took a multivitamin. It's surely a smart thing to not have anything in your system going into any drug test besides hair, as there could always be a chemical mix up or phony positive result. BLAGH
- Simply didn't wait long enough. Perhaps a week is not long enough for the blood to clear of THC, especially for a heavy smoker.
Fortunately for me though this was just one of those base line tests. Where they give you that first test to get your base numbers to see if you've abstained. (Meaning your numbers in following tests should be lower than the base/first test.)
I just want to throw this out there for anyone that might be going the blood test route instead of the UA because they think they'll be clean in a blood test. BE WARY.
