Does it sparkle when smoke it? If so, fiberglass, makes it way more and cuts your lungs making the THC go directly into your bloodstream making you think its better weed. If it does not sparkle, might be silica flakes, again with the makes it weigh more but does not make it sparkle or make it seem better, just weighs more. The thing with the silica is if a piece goes through everything else and gets into your lungs, you can get a mesothelioma like condition, YAY GOOD DRUG DEALERS!!!!.........

Best thing to do is get a good quality macro picture and post it. While it will still be hard for people to tell just by a picture alone, it will likely be easier to tell than without one, and will probably result in less wild-ass guesses :)

If you do suspect anything, smoke it out of a bong. The water will catch any harmful sediment, leaving only delicious smoke for your lungs :)

It's a shame people rip others off. I bought hash a while back, and the guy had cut it with noticeable quantities of molasses. Asshole.

Hopefully you just got some juicy thick trichomes. I've noticed some buds trichs glimmer more than others - almost like a tiny diamond - especially in direct sunlight. Just a thought :stoned:

Not true at all, the silica is so small is can attach itself to the tar/THC molecules, that's why it is such a serious thing, because its in the smoke, that gets into your lungs. Get a kief screen and kief some of it, then look at it with the microscope. Tricomes are round and organic in shape, silica is very geometric.

That much silica wont hurt you anyways. Silicosis is the condition caused by inhaling excessive amounts of silica, not Mesothelioma and thats (Silicosis) mostly just a concern for sandblasters that go through thousands of tons in a lifetime. You will inhale more silica during a day at the beach than you would with a joint of silica dusted weed.
Mesothelioma is a condition caused from Asbestos exposure ONLY. Fiberglass could be an issue because of the polymers it is sometimes extruded with. Either way smoke through a filter or bong, if you are worried about it.

If it were in the form of silica dioxide, the molecules would certainly be much too heavy to be carried through smoke. Any plain silica molecules would be much too small to alter the weight of the bud; if they were going for a luminosity change, true silica wouldn't do a noticeable amount of damage to the lungs, and it wouldn't be very cost-effective on the dealer's part to spend the resources to do that it seems. Then again, many dealers aren't the smartest bunch.

The bud looks safe to me, but I don't have it under magnification, so I can't tell definitively.
