i understand hydro can use many different types of media but was wondering if
i can use Burlap as a media as i have a bunch of burlap feed bags laying around
so the question is can i just cut up some burlap and stuff it in the net pot as media maybe add some chunky perlite?

Burlap should work. It is the nutrition you add to the water you use that keeps the plants alive not the medium they are grown in. Make sure the burlap was not used for some nasty chemical or anything that may affect the plants.

thats exactly what i thought about the nutes the bags have only held corn feed i'll wash them in the bath tub with to get everything out (corn&dirt) as i don't want to make sour mash for moonshine lol

Let us know how it works. I have bought clones at several dispensaries and they come in all kinds of media from chopped sponges to rockwool to regular dirt. I throw them all in Happy Frog as soon as I get them and they always seem to thrive.

Thanks for jumping in Juandada. That would be the only draw back. Just get the little rock wool cubes for starter. Then if you are going to soil put them in Fox Farms Happy Frog or some comparible soil as soon as they get too big. Sorry I don't know more about hydro.

i would have not thought that they'd be treated considering they were used for live animal feed but i don't know i guess i'll just buy a bag of lava rock
