The other day I took my friend and I took her dog for a drive. We picked up a couple other friends and the dog was in my lap. We all decided to spark a bowl, so there's six bowls going around the car with the windows rolled up. It was a HOT-BOX!! By the time I knew it, Phoenix (the dog) was making this weird barking noise, kinda like mix between a yelp and a growl. We pulled over and let Phoenix out (I thought he was gonna bite me!!) at a park and he started trippin! He was barking at trees and pissin everywhere and after awhile he just lied down and would not get up! We had to carry him back to the car, and lay him in his bed at home! I felt bad, but has anyone else gotten their pets high? LOL. :p

Yeah my parents have a cat, I've gotten it high a lot by now. They know about this too. And they realize the cat is a lot more friendly and calm than it was in the past. Wonder why???
Anyway it's a blast, love to see how the cat reacts to it. Usually runs away for a few mins, then comes back, lies down on a bed, and spaces out like a person on O.

I was smokin' out with my sister and mom, and one of our cats comes walking by. We start joking around about what the cat would do. So I picked her up, took a small hit and blew in her faces a couple of times. She started walking around, and kinda fallin' from side to side swerving around the room sorta. It was great. Then she just plopped down and didn't move for a LONG time... mua ha ha.

Ive gotten my cat high so many, Holding his mouth shut and exhailing half the smoke into his nose then stopping for 3 seconds so he can exhail the smoke out and then exhailing the rest into him, its funny hearing his lungs make noises when your doing it and then have him chilling on my lap with him playing with his tail

Looks like the morons are out in force!!
I would nail you to the floor and use catnip spray on your bollox then let the cats loose, animal abuse is animal abuse.
I think the only things we should experiment on is ourselves and each other leave the animals alone or maybe you pick on animals because they're smarter than you????

Is this an Animal Rights site? I like animals as much as the next person and take offense to your statements. If the cat showed that she DISLIKED being smoked up, I wouldnt do it. But, the only aspect she dont seem to like is the smoke in her ears. So now I just stay farther from her and blow the smoke at her, and wouldnt you know, she sits there and takes it. Must not bother her too much then, huh??? Cats are kinda picky and if they dont like something, they wont just sit there and put up with it. Do a little research and thinking before you post ignorant BS like what you wrote above.

we put his bitch ass into a cooler(a big one with a drain hole in the bottom used for picnics n shit) and smoked two joints in a row blowwin each hit into the drain hole(the smoke then seeped out crack between the lid and the cooler)
afterwards we let bruno out of the and he took the BIGGEST shit i have ever seen an animal shit out(it was about 1/3 the size of the dog i think)

Now a days she loves it as muchas I do and will come lay on my bed while I smoke.
I remember the first few times she smoked she tripped out, just like humans would. We hot boxed an old car that just sits in our driveway one night. We went inside the house she rushed the food n the water for like 10-15, then layed down on the floor...the best was when my dad got home she got paranoid n ran under his bed until the next morning, late the next morning.

hahaha same with my kitty, the first couple of times i smoked him up he would get real paranoid and sit on the window sell and just watch people walk by looking at the door thinking someone was gonna walk in, but now days he just lays on top the our Entertainment center and just chill flicking his tail up and down even like the first couple of times he would try to fight it but now hes always in my room and when i pick him up he dont even fight it, its more like he jumps on the bed when i start breaking it up.

Dogs are usually exposed to marijuana by ingesting the cigarettes, dried leaves or leftover baked products containing marijuana. Sometimes, owners may intentionally give marijuana to their pets to ??see what happens.? After ingestion, THC is rapidly absorbed, and generally, within 24 hours, most of the THC has been excreted.
Toxicity of marijuana is low. It takes about 1.5 grams of marijuana per pound of body weight to be fatal. Therefore, death from marijuana ingested is not common. However, pets ingesting marijuana become incoordinated and begin stumbling. Most become quite lethargic. Some may experience hallucinations. The danger with marijuana is that vomiting is common, and if the pet is profoundly lethargic and begins vomiting, aspiration of the vomitus into the lungs can lead to severe breathing problems and even death.
Treatment of marijuana exposure usually involves the induction of vomiting to remove any residual THC and, depending on the severity of the signs, some pets require hospitalization with intravenous fluids. The vast majority of pets exposed to marijuana fully recover within 24 hours.

Why do people believe that smoking anything is "good" for you.
FACT
Burning any carbon based substance releases toxins
One of the main ingredients of smoke is CO (carbon monoxide)
There is no such thing as a "safe" smoking method
We have the choice to smoke and have the responsibility not to expose those around us to our bad habits.
Choice and responsibility.

I am on topic , my argument being that what you do is up to you,, but children and animals should not be forced to share our second hand smoke.
As for nowhere man,, I have cats that will sit all day in a smokey room and I have others that run at the first whiff so I would like to make clear that they have the ability to leave the room or house even , those that choose to stay are kicked out during heavy periods because of my concern for their health.
Part of having pets is taking responsibility for their welfare , anyone who thinks different should be banned from having pets.

They are not being forced to it. They put their cute 'lil faces up to us when we are smoking, and we exhale into their lungs. We don't grab onto their faces, and blow down their mouths, and then laugh evilly as they get "fucked up". We are giving them the choice to do it or not.

Ive only gotten my cat charlie high once, but he loved it. Hes honestly the best cat in the world, hes gentle, good natured, and lets you lay him on his back for hours. Never hisses at anyone, never heard him growl once. I guess fat cats (and people) really are more jolly than the rest because I have two other cats who are skinny and they are assholes. Anyhoo, one time I was smoking in my room and charlie came walking in. THen he sort of started sniffing the air really quickly and weirdly, then he jumped up onto my bed and sat right next to me. I took a hit and blew it in his face and he winced, then walked away because he didnt like the smoke, but then he came stumbling back into my room a second later. I blew the smoke into his face again when he barely made it back onto my bed, and this time he didnt leave but he plopped down onto his side and started purring like crazy. I gave him one more hit, then finished my bowl. Charlie became very relaxed, he started to become very affectionate and rubbed against me purring and giving me love bites. If he didnt like it, he wouldnt have come back into the room. If he didnt like it, he wouldnt have purred as much as he did. Further more, if he didnt like it I would have known and I wouldnt have given him more. I know where your coming from defending the animals, because they too are living creatures. BUt the bond between pet and owner is too great for any of us to intentionally hurt our pets, even if we are stoned out of our minds.

PS: That night I got charlie about 20 cat nip toys that were in the 1$ bin at Target, they were all LOADED with cat nip, then I brought charlie into my room and poured them ALL onto my bed while I smoked pot and he tripped on the cat nip. I love my kitty!

Cute story radefactor, I love cats! But in my experience, all the fat cats I've ever met/had, were the most grouchy ones. The skinnier cats always seem nicer and more mellow. But I still love fat cats more :)
Anyway, I don't seem to have the luck you guys are having. My dog Lucy seems to hate weed. She knows it's something different than cigs, so she comes by to smell it, and she smells it for a long time, as if inspecting it. But then when I light it up, she runs away. She usually hangs around for cigarette smoke, but when I light up my pipe she just hates it. In fact, whenever I smoke weed around her, she immediately starts running around in circles around me and just generally goes nuts. I have no idea what this means.
Anyway, it's too bad she hates weed so much. She's so hyper all the time, it would be nice to finally see her mellow out.

thanks :D yep, charlies a good boy. hes sitting on my lap right now while im eating my popcorn, purring like crazy as usual. maybe your dog runs around like crazy because she has no idea what weed is, but then again dogs are alot more territorial than cats so maybe your dog feels threatened? glad you enjoyed my story tho, i think after I did that with him my bond with him grew stronger. he seems to be around me alot more. call me crazy tho, whenever I come home stoned or i smoke and go near him, I swear he knows. he acts all funny, but then again I could just be imagining it since im high.

i got my own theorys on pets and weed, or questions maybe, if u take a hit, and when u exhale u do it so as they will breathe the smoke, well wouldnt the THC content be almost non present, so it wouldnt get them high, but on the other hand, they wieght very little, cept my dogs like 80 pounds. i never blow in there face, cuz i exhale into a doob tube or out the window. im curious to see what u oviously more experianced weedologist (lol) can tell me about this

Your lungs never fully absorb the THC content that you inhale while in smoke form, so when you exhale there is still quite a bit left. That is why vaporizing or eating is the best way to manipulate cannabis because you have no wasted THC. With smoke you are inhaling Tar, carbon, and lots of other nasty things that stay in your lungs so your not only getting THC. There is still some left in the smoke when you exhale, and since pets (mostly cats) are so small, they barely need any to get high. Vaporizing makes it so you only inhale THC steam basically, your only getting THC nothing else (cept air of course). Eating, do I even need to elaborate?
I have a theory of my own though, and its based on Kat nip. Cats are known to get high off of cat nip from mearly smelling it. I think that whenever I get high since the THC is in my bloodstream, they pick up on it with their amazing sense of smell. Not only do they pick up on it, but my theory is that they get high off it like they would with katnip. This is just a theory, but as I said before my cat charlie acts funny whenever I'm stoned then go around him. I dont think its just me imagining it because he usually purrs all the time, but the 2nd time I got him high he didnt purr he just relaxed on my bed and kneaded my comferter. Now I've noticed that whenever Im stoned and go around him, he stops purring and start kneading whatever hes sitting on. Seems to be too big of a coincidence to me, call me crazy but I think I may be right.

If your pet dont party, it's probably best to keep it that way. Sure is cheaper! But weed don't hurt 'em. It may not help 'em, but it sure don't hurt 'em. If they don't like it and try to scratch your eyes out...take the hint. Other than that, I'm loadin' another one for Pita!!! :D

hey once me and my bud were out smokin well bud and his sis has some horses that followed us out to his barn. we sparked up a bowl and one horse came over and we started blowin smoke at it. This horse was no party animal and it walked off soon the other horse came over and we did the same thing. This horse was a head if ive ever seen one it stood there and took it like a champ shortly after we fed it some hey for munchies and then it started yawning like a mofo then it saw some hey on the ground and it reached for it but didnt quite make it and was just biting at the air it was soooo funny. Needless to say this was some dank shit.

Cannabis when eaten is deadly to cats.. so I was big time against getting my cat high and stuff. Until she fucking pounced my face because I was turning my head when blowing smoke. So I was like, fine bitch.. I'll blow it at your face. lol And she loves it. Whenever I'm smoking now she comes and sits on my lap and points her face at mine for me to exhale smoke. It's weird, but she loves it and it makes her really affectionate.

I love when my Cat gets high with me, he almost looks human. He will start watching tv with me, to see whats up with the worlds problems, ill flip the channels and start looking at familiy guy (I can almost swear his laughing with me)
Then me and my cat will hop in the car with our seat belts fasten, get something at taco bell. I will order the 99c chicken fajitas, and ill ask my cat what he wants (he will be loving the soft tacos). Then will get back home call a couple of biatches, and party all night long. Wake up the next morning go to his basket and see if he still high from last night, he will be looking at me like (dude Yesterday was some crazy shit)!!!
AGHHH!! every friday!

Did we seriously just revive a topic from '04? << Niiiice.
My pets don't like gettin high... I give 'em catnip though, they go crazy and then crash.

???????????
My cat ate 7 grams of bud, and smokes with me almost every time i light up at home, and he's not dead yet. I fail to see how cannabis is deadly to them. There's nothing toxic in cannabis, at all. Infact, because our digestive systems are the way they are, i doubt any THC is absorbed by the stomach, much like with humans. THat's why it has to be cooked in oil or fat.
But id like some proof about this "cannabis is deadly to cats" thing.
Edit: Just realised how old this topic is. I hate it.

one time with a bunch of friends we just rolled some blunts and were about to go to this spot in the woods to smoke that shit. and this dog just came out of no where and started to follow us. so we decided to get him high. he followed us through the woods to the spot and just sat there as we blew him like 5 shotties he was so fucked up. the dog was buggin i was standin in a trail that was wide enough for one person and that fucking dog (husky sorta dog) was runnin full force that basterd ran right into me and kept going like it never happened. the dog followed us around for like another hour then some little kid came and took him.
i also get my 2 cat's Miles and Grams high. Miles is a fat basterd he used to not like it but i think he does now because he comes into the van that we hot box and just chills in the front seat. My other cat Grams don't really like it much but hes a funny ass high cat he just goes crazy eats mad food then just chills and passes out for a while
Eh, an older brother of a friend of mine blew smoke into a Dalmation's face, and it went into shock and died.
I'd quite like to see my cat and dog stoned, however.
Would chill my puppy riiiiiiight out.
what? The dog got scared of some smoke and died?

One time me and my friedns blew a few hits in his dogs mouth/nose. I'm nt sure if it was high ( it's a black lab so its fairley big).

I think its only fair to spread out a newspaper and dump out some catnip when toking is happening. I don't get my animals high, I can't explain to them what's happening, but that's me. I've known a lot of guys that get their animals high, but personally, I don't.
