View Full Version : Dilution versus Synthetic???

So here's my situation: I've got a pre-employment urine test within the next 2-7 days and I smoked as recent as two days ago. No chance in hell that I will pass naturally as I smoke regularly and took a home test (without diluting or anything) and tested positive.
I used Number One once before and passed, but its is no longer around so I picked up CleanStream and tested it using a home kit -- it passed. BUT, I've been reading a few posts and some folks are saying that the labs can detect the synthetic. Does anyone know that to be a fact (especially for a premployment, which is supposed to be the "easiest" to pass). How about rumors that labs are asking people to change into gowns?
I'm running a few test right now to determine the number of bottles of water I have to drink to pass this sucka, but that's very risky... Also heard aspirin and Tums will help to pass, but not too sure about that (bought bottles of both though as I'm williing to try anything). Appreciate any light you can shed on the subject.

Not seeing a lot of information on the CleanStream, but QuickFix seems to be doing the job. So, I just placed my order at Spectrum Labs w/2nd day air..
Still appreciate any information on Cleanstream as I may have to test before the QF arrives. Tried diluting all night per the very detailed instructions, but I'm still failing and have pretty much bought all the home test kits available within a 20 mile radius. That option is officially out.

The clean stream looks pretty legit to me, Ive never heard of anyone using it but I'm sure it will work. I have however used Quick Fix numerous times and always passed. Labs cannot detect synthetic urine if your sample is up to date. If this happens to be a DOT physical then you may be subject to putting on the gown. This all depends on the employer, some send you to a hospital for the physical and then a testing site for the urine test. Others do it all at the same place. It wouldn't hurt to try and find out without being suspicious, asking an employee or reading company policies.

Thanks for the info Deige. It's a pre-employment test, which I've done a few times before, but it's been a couple years since the last one and I want to be sure lab's testing process has not changed. Plus, I'm paranoid as hell at this point and the wait/uncertainty is absolute torture.
Little info for anyone else out there in my situation, I ordered QuickFix from Spectrum Labs late last night and they shipped it by 8AM central time the following day. I love quick shippers and wanted to share that with anyone who's stuck in my situation.

Passed using QF! Huge, huge relief and ordering it direct was definitely the way to go. Thanks Deige and everyone else on this site helping me out.

My employer has grown considerably over the last few years and now has a random drug testing policy in place. I drive locally for this company so it will be a DOT type test conducted by Foley Services. I haven't drank in 20 years and smoke weed on my own time over the weekends while camping or after working in the yard. I hate to give it up as it helps me relax and helps with the stress we all live with. The random testing is so new that none of the employee's have been sent yet so reliable information about the collection is still unavailable. I've seen a product on the drug testing websites called
"SPIKE" which is added to the urine sample at the collection site. It supposedly cleans the sample of the toxin (marijuana). It says it's for the EMIT test only and not reliable on the confirmation test (GC/MS). Usually, the process is, the sample is tested with the EMIT screen first and only further tested if the screen comes up positive for drugs (GC/MS). I'd rather try SPIKE than powdered or synthetic urine due to the fact it doesn't have to be heated to body temp and SPIKE is a smaller vial than the urine substitute. A supervisor will drive us to the collection site too, making it hard to use the urine substitute. Has anyone tried Spike on the DOT random test who would like to share their information with me? The sales rep. at the wesite says it may have an odor for about a minute or so after it is mixed, so stall for about a minute or so after the sample is ready to submit. If anyone could shed some light on Spike or any other reliable way to pass the test I would greatly apprecite your time and input. THANKS/PEACE

I wouldn't recommend the spike or any additive because Ive never heard of them working. Most labs test for adulterants and will definitely catch you. If you think the sub is not an option then you might want to quit for a while until you know how the testing process is conducted.
