I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the headline Boehner Hires ??Contract?? Architect to Promote G.O.P. Platform. They are really scraping the bottom of the barrel to hire the guy who wrote Contract with America, the biggest GOP double cross in recent history. The contract resulted in the hit we are taking now politically, economically, and socially.
??By bringing the director of the Contract With America back to the Hill during this important time for the nation, we??re sending a message that Republicans are serious about listening to the people, building a principled and lasting majority, and renewing the drive for smaller, more accountable government,? Mr. Boehner said in a statement. :S2:
I would like to see more third party candidates to have an even playing field with election money. Then we would really get the variation and political coalitions to break the two-party strangle hold that keeps the country from moving forward. The only third party that is influencing things now are the so-called independents who really aren't independent, they just meander back and forth between the main two. We need Greens, Libertarians, and yes, Social Democrats and Christian Moralists to really get a true mix of what makes this country tick. Then we would really see change. :twocents:
