Greetings...

I just recently begun looking into an option for treatment of my Chronic pain due to several joint surgeries and a joint replacement. I have had the unfortunate situation of being on prescription pain medicine (narcotics) on and off for about 4 years and on them constantly for about 18 months. I absolutely hate them as I seem to spend more time in the bathroom than anywhere else.

My pain management doctor asked me to consider the use of medicinal marijuana. I have never considered this before and he stated that I am truly someone who could benefit from it.

I am more than a bit apprehensive about this as the "stigma" associated with marijuana use is quite high amongst my co-workers/peers. I also am not a fan of smoking as I would not want to destroy my lungs. My physician stated that the benefits of marijuana can be gained from ingesting the substance in butters or baked goods.

Are there any other people here that use medicinal marijuana for chronic pain reduction?

Thanks for the help and I look forward to learning a bunch here before I elect to go this route....any feedback is certainly appreciated!

I smoke for pain relief in my hip (cartilage worn away, bone on bone when I stand, walk). And anxiety (not covered in Montana).
I take a hit from a small water pipe in the morning, one or two during the day, and a couple in the evening (more if it's been a busy or shitty day)
No one would know if my wife wern't so damn proud of me "smoking pot"!:rastasmoke:

A vaporizer would also help with the lung issue as the burning is greatly reduced.:)

Different strains will act on different people differently. It may take a few tries before you find the perfect strain to help you out. I use one for pain, one for anxiety, and mix the two for different effects.:D

Until you try it, you won't know if it will work. Nothing to lose other than the cost of the registration, but look at all the money , water bill, and pain that may be saved!:hippy:

Thanks Dennisjill...

I will have to see if I can get approved in my state. MMJ is really new here and going about utilizing this therapy is rare here. Seeing that my pain doc recc'd this and feels I will be a good candidate then there is some hope.

Appreciate your inputs!
