Hi there. New to these forums. But I had a question...

Recently I've had a friend who's been hooking me up with some Jack Herer. I'm fairly new to marijuana so unless I'm told I don't really know whether it's a sativa or indica. The guy I get it from says it's a sativa and I'm pretty sure I was reading a topic on here not 5 minutes ago mentioning Jack. Anyway, we usually smoke it out of a gravity, a simple 3 liter contraption he made at home. I had been smoking the Jack with him before (the very same sack he bought) but this time I decided to up my dosage a bit. I took 5 hits out of his 3 liter gravity and it had me sitting in the bathroom puking my guts out all night. I don't know what the problem is, it's happened to me before but I just thought it was just food poisoning. Kinda thinking it wasn't now.. Has this ever happened to anyone? I notice that every time I take a big hit out of the gravity the cooled smoke makes me feel like I have to gag. I've been limiting myself to few and very small hits lately because of this, even from his pipe. No idea what the problem is... maybe someone could point it out for me? Would really appreciate it. :)

ya may be allergic to the strain or even cannabis at that. To find out go to an allergist and request a test. Some will want a sample to mix up specific to the strain.

Otherwise try a different strain..... Hydro makes my ill as hell for weeks...I stay away from hydro grown bud.....

all that means is that your a light waight.no pun intended.that also means your a cheap hi and that is veeeeeery goood.waight till you have been smoking awhile and it takes more 2 achive the same hi.

edit - if you still feel a bit queezy around the bong, most likely psychological, called single episode (shock) learning. You have associated the bong with vomiting, so when you use the bong you experience some nausea. If you put up with the slight nausea when you use the bong the association will fade and the nausea disappear.

I had a friend a while back who threw up every time she smoked. the first 10 mins or so was fine, then she immediately took off to the bathroom. My guess is either some people have allergies to it as Jamessr said, or different people have different reactions (getting the spins, etc..)

Perhaps the bud wasn't flushed correctly and you're allergic to one of the chemicals used, not the bud itself.

Perhaps you too big of a hit (especially since you were using a gravity bong - this would've been really easy to do). Too big of hits for me make me cough terribly, and every once in a while that cough will lead to a gag reflex.

There are a multitude of different reasons it could be. But if you really think it was the weed and not you, then I'd say either take smaller hits or find a new batch.

Thanks for all the replies, I have noticed and thought about the nausia thing Sarah said.. that I associate the bong hit with my previous experience in the bathroom. I think I just need to get my dosage right. It's just that I'm 6'4" and 210 lbs, so like it takes a lil more than most people to get me at the right spot. So usually when my friends who are usually stoned out of their minds at the same amount of hits I take, I'm just about right. But since we usually go out on a drive or some other sort of adventure afterwards, we don't try to get THAT high, so I'm usually left somewhere in the middle of buzzed and nearly perfect.. which is why i try to take bigger and more hits.

But I definitly will try to see the doctor and find out if I'm allergic to the stuff or something in it. Next time this happens i'll save a bit from the batch and take it in. Thanks everyone, and sorry if this wasn't exactly the right section of the forum to post this in lol.
