hps for vegg?? help

okay i got a 400watt hps and 2 sets of two 4ft floresents t8 cool blue the hps is just aregular hps i heard of people doing this i got this set up rite now with 6 plants wats up need help

I was wondering the same thing.. well kind of.

I have a HPS ballast that can take an MH bulb. I was wondering whether I should pay the extra ~$50 for a MH bulb or just veg with the HPS...

I think you're fine vegging with that set-up you've got. You can veg with just HPS, but I've heard it's not ideal... You might even be able to veg with just those fluorescents, especially if you're concerned with power. I think fluoros work pretty well for veg, just not the best for flower..

HPS is fine for veg. The plants will stretch more (compared to a MH bulb), but nothing to be overly concerned about. My 400w HPS has worked fine for me from start to finish.

I don't know what kind of output those T8's have, but they won't hurt anything in veg or flower.
