Here is the initiative process in California: To get an initiative on the ballot, a person or group pays a $200 fee, gets approval of the text from the state attorney generalā??s office, and then has 150 days to collect hundreds of thousands of signatures, which must be rigorously verified against voter registration records.
What is the process in Wa to get one on the ballot??? :stoned:

I like cali. processes better:thumbsup:, the legislature can't change any thing in the process of an inititive. It must go up for a vote to change shit.
Here in Wa. though, the legislature can change any thing after 2 yrs of it being on the books.
This means that any one paying the price to buck up an inititive (around 10 grand average) only has 2 yrs of coverage if the legislature don't like the law that we the people passed.
This is not covered grasshopper in the info. killerweed420 supplied. Our state don't tell us things like this.

Well, there isn't enough time this election cycle, so it would have to go up in 2012. :( Two years too late unless they really pass a bad law relative to dispensaries or an "open market" that will correct itself. Just like we keep hearing about the banks, and other bailout fat cats, etc. :D
If we think we can trust the government or legislators to do what is right by the people, I'd say we've lost our collective minds.

I agree. An intiative by the people should bever be allowed to be changed except by the people.
