Ok, so I smoked for the first time in about a year a week ago and I'm going to be drug tested for work. I didn't smoke too much but it was enough to get a good buzz on, will this show in a hair follicle test? If so, I'm fucked.

How long is your hair and how much did you smoke?

Ehh... I'd prolly go for a new haircut too. Not really worth the risk of getting caught. Just don't go completely bald because I think that might be quite obvious.:D
If they try to piss test you after that you'll prolly be fine because of the small amount you smoked.

Yeah your fucked... And If you shave your head they will just take it from another part of your body.

Yeah your fucked... And If you shave your head they will just take it from another part of your body. Thats right. And if for some reason they cannot obtain a sufficient amount of hair, fingernail clippings can be taken.
Or, the collector can declare a "refusal to test" .

However the hair does have to be a certain length for them to test. I would just let them take the fingernail clippings, because there is no way that what they could clip off would test positive if you haven't smoked in months.

I don't think your following... He said he smoked 4 bowls a day for 2-3 days. In my opinion that's enough to fuck him for any test unless its a swab.

Well the tips of your fingernails would only contain traces of thc if he also smoked months ago.
Unless they ripped the fingernail out to test the part of the nail that was just formed by the body, there is NO way they could find RECENT evidence of thc in the fingernails.
Same thing with the hair. They would have to get his roots to go deep enough to find the THC evidence if it was recent.

3 sessions in 90 days can cause a failure so you need to use countermeasures.
Now for the people who think cutting his hair is going to be helpful think again. You don't want to cut your hair shorter than 3/4 of an inch maybe 1/2 if you get an easy tester but this isn't going to help this individual because 3/4 of an inch will give them his history going back about 45-55 days, 1/2 inch will give a history of 30-40 days and he smoked about a week ago so that hair is almost at the surface of the scalp.
The countermeasures have been listed many times before and I really am short on time so if the OP could do a search of if someone else wants to tell him about the commercial shampoos that are effective (not all are created equal), the acid and detergent or base and detergent methods, perms or straighteners, and the bleach and redye. With the brief use you stand a good chance of passing.
I'm going to have to start spending more time in the drug testing forum again because the hair testing advice as well as urine testing advice has been suspect lately.

Whatever dude. Smoking one time a week ago is not gonna screw you on a hair test. Hair just doesn't grow fast enough.
And I'm not gonna recommend any shampoos because I'm not gonna tell him to do something that I don't yet trust myself.

Screw it dude, don't pay attention to the small details like 4 bowls a day for 2-3 days. 3 sessions in 90 days dude is what I said and I stand by that fact, go to the Quest website.
And I'm not gonna recommend any shampoos because I'm not gonna tell him to do something that I don't yet trust myself.
Well I guess you are the foremost expert on hair testing and if you don't give it your seal of approval then it doesn't work? There is a government funded test showing that Zydot and I believe it was Toxin Wash that both remove drug metabolites. It was a small sample study but it has been shown on this site and others that good results come from these shampoos and other methods. There is one guy who even spent about $500 doing his own testing on some of these products.
But hey, since you don't like these products I guess they can't remove metabolites.

Mojo, your post was axed because you were flaming FBR - and youve done it again. Dont be too suprised when the banhammer gets dropped on you this time.

I was trying to genuinely help the Tim123 since not many people had chimed in by that time to help. Then FBR directly insulted me. It is one thing to say he may have a better idea, but to insult me is another. Within the next few months, I was planning on starting an advertising campaign for my website. I hoped to talk to admins about spending a couple grand advertising here, but if they want to ban me, I guess I won't.

I dont see anywhere in FBR's posts where insults were hurled at you. If you ever looked at all of FBRs past postings (and there are lots), you'll discover that hes well-researched and knowlegeable on the subject of drug testing and has both the credentials and the sheepskin to back it up. He didnt accumilate those rep points and achieved Moderator status by being ill-informed. To be frank, FBR was setting the record straight and if your skin isnt thick enough to handle it, then perhaps youve got a problem.

He quoted me in post #14, then followed up with a smart ass remark and rolling his eyes. Rolling your eyes to a stranger is a very disrespectful thing to do and I felt that was completely uncalled for. It isn't fair that I'm not allowed to express my feelings when somebody acts that way. Now also perhaps he was saying that very light-heartedly, however it is very difficult to convey that through text.

You can express your feelings on the matter without resorting to inflammatory name-calling, which is in violation of the board rules dude. If thats not possible for you, then perhaps you should take up a creative-writing course.

Dude I'm actually trying to move past this. I enjoy this message board and I like being able to help people with things I have researched myself in the past and I don't wanna trash that.
You have already given me negative rep and reported me to the mods, yet still refuse to leave me alone regarding this thread. I think its about time you mind your own business anyway, nothing of what I said has been directed towards you. I mean, don't you have anything else to do today?

I think its about time you mind your own business anyway, nothing of what I said has been directed towards you. You didnt have to. As long as this thread is open to replies, anyone (including myself) can post their input on the matter at any time they wish (as long as its in compliance with the rules, of course). And its something that you have no control over.

Yes yes, you are correct in the fact that you are free to speak your mind. I was not trying to take away those rights nor suggest that I had the authority to do so. I was merely making a suggestion. Just give it a rest dude please.

Not until you offer a public and sincere apology to FBR for the name-calling. It may do you some good from a membership retaining standpoint.

Thats up to FBR, but as I stated, theres nowhere in his posts that show any insults being hurled. You, on the other hand, flagarantly broke the rules by flaming him - not once, but twice.
So not only does FBR deserve an apology from you, but also the owners/Site Admins deserves an apology from you for displaying disrespect and disregard towards their rules pertaining to flaming as well!

Some people just don't know when to leave well enough alone... He had to have the last word and look where it got him.
