I was diagnosed with PTSD a long time ago and have been taking paxil to treat it. I hate paxil. I feel dead inside. I have been trying to get a scrip from my doctor for Medical Marijuana but he refuses. He's Mormon. He just wants to try different prescription drugs. I tell him that marijuana really helps but he refuses to listen. What can I do?

Take the meds and show the doc it's messed up side effects have upon your body. Thats the best way to document the PATIENTS RIGHTS TO BE FREE FROM TORTURE. Look up in your state what torture legally means under state law. You will be very suprised what it says.;)

I can help

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Contact me off the forum - email me [email protected]

We are a non profit corporation trying to become a NM DOH Licensed Producer. Our web site for patient advocacy is The NewMexiCannabis Project

I have a psychiatrist who can give you a recommendation. You do not have to be a regular patient but you will have to see him once a year to renew the recommendation. NM DOH honors his recommendations for PTSD. I use him for myself and had no problems with NM DOH. It takes a while to get an appointment with him though - as much as two months. If I remember correctly, he charges $200.

I do not want to post his name publically.

Be Well
Len Goodman

 I hope they can help you; badrat31:)

Yeah,Len is cool and really wants to help MMJ patients.
I would take his advice. If for some reason you are unable to do that, you can try going on Google to search Dr.Eve Elting(it will be the first link) or try medicmarijuana(dot)net(slash)index(dot)html

Good luck.

Try telling your doctor that the meds are harming you.Mormon or not,he took an oath to "do no harm".

Well, it looks like I'm shit out of luck. According to my doctor, because I was diagnosed with PTSD in Utah, it isn't valid in New Mexico. No card for me. Guess I'll have to continue with the Paxil. Plus he accused me of "just wanting to get high." I explained how I felt using Paxil and he just suggested a lower dosage.

Life sucks.

DON'T LISTEN TO THAT DOCTOR; MY FIRST MEDICAL EXAMINE WAS NOT DONE HERE IN NM. TAKE YOUR RECORDS TO THE DOCTORS WE POSTED OR ANOTHER OF YOUR CHOICE, BUT YOUR RECORDS ARE VALID IN ALL STATES OF THE UNION; THEY(YOUR RECORDS) SHOW CONDITION AND TREATMENT; ALSO THE RECORDS SHOULD HAVE HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THE METHOD OF TREATMENT. ONE LAST THING; YOU ARE PAYING THE DOCTOR EITHER BY INSURANCE OR OUT OF POCKET, YOU ARE THE BOSS: DO THINGS RIGHT BUT DO IT FOR YOU AND YOUR WELL BEING.

Thanks. I needed that info. I'm calling the hospital this morning where I was diagnosed. Hopefully, they still have my records. :)

My medical records are on the way. Thanks for all the support and information. I don't think I'm going to try with my doctor again. I'm going to try another doctor and see if he/she can help with this.
