I just wanted to introduce myself since I seem to be spending more and more time on what is more of a way of life than a simple hobby.

My name is "G" and I'm an ex standup comedian and writer for NBC, now teaching economics and political science. I was involved in a car accident years ago and even though I was a recreational smoker, I found that it helped me through my battle with Hep C. I use it now more for chronic back pain.

I'm a devout libertarian, strong conservative ideals that the government should stay out of our lives, has no business telling us what we can smoke, how we can live, taxing us and then voting themselves pay raises among other things. I fully support the legalization and decriminalization of cannibus of and in every form, from an economic, ethical, and environmental viewpoint.

I'm in the north Houston area if anyone wants to meet up for a coffee, a toke, and a great conversation between like minded friends.

BTW, LEO's and drama queens are not welcome in my life in any shape or form.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Boaz,

Hope you enjoyed the holidays and wish you a happy New Year!

I'm assembling a new grow cabinet that I received for Christmas and about to have coffee with some friends after a nice toke. Then it's off to Lowe's for new lighting fixtures and an inline fan....the project never ends does it?!

How is life in your part of the world?

I received a cab for Christmas..72"x48"x22" and bought some T8s' and aditional CFL's, an inline ducted fan, flat white spray paint... putting it al together tomorrow and about to order some seeds. I have some bagseed sprouting however I'm ready to get growing on some good stuff!!!! One thing I learned in the past and I'm trying to remember is not to rush the grow!!!

A new project is always a good thing, isn't it?! Hope you enjoy your game and best wishes to you and your family. Advice or input is alway welcome from those who have experience to share....

My most sincere sympathy at your geographical location. leos are a fact and a tough one there, where I most unfortunately spent a century last year. Most leos refused on television to stop arresting people with small amounts after the Tx legislature decriminalized LAST YEAR. But Harris County got a good sheriff elected last year too, one who admitted to smoking pot and his plans to leave pot smokers alone--thereby upholding Texas Law. Hope that helps you. Myself, I hope never to look on a lone star ANYTHING ever again.

Sorry to hear you had an unfortunate experience here... I can certainly understand your situation and position. Please don't take offense to what I'm about to state but Texas is a great state with a wonderful history, like many others, however the problem lies within the system that was allowed to propogate through the weaknesses of our forefathers.

MJ was made illegal through racism due to the Great Depression (which was made into what it became through Roosevelt, not Hoover as widely believed and taught) and through an illegal machine gun tax in 1938 as I'm sure you're aware. The problem we have here is still an ignorant belief of mj and those old school core values. Ignorance is slow to dissipate while intelligence is much more difficult to breed...

We need to fight to share the truth as to what MJ REALLY IS and what it REALLY IS NOT. Can one person do it? Nope, but through organizing and getting rid of an increasingly socialistic and communistic government that seeks to control our personal lives through increasing government "assistance", "help", or "crisis" , or an otherwise type of system then can we spread the TRUTH about what GOD planted for us to use and enjoy, instead of what MAN thinks we should use and enjoy, then we can make headway. Obama is yet another classic symptom of what government in a truly representative republic SHOULD NOT be. Communism and socialism simply DO NOT work and cannot work in a society that seeks to grow, prosper, and lead.

Texas isn't all that bad, its the idiots we let ruin our great republic and who we let turn it into just another "state" that have made it this fucked up.... I hear what your saying and wish you the very best...

Best wishes to you and hope you have a great day!!

I'm 290 and HIGHway 6, our sheriff's pot history is just that, unfortunately, just history...if you're up for a toke and and a coffee, hit me up!!!,

The scene is okay but I could always use a fresh intro. My last person decided to try and sneak a few grams from a bag, so that helps the decision to become an agriculturist... just my part of being green!!!!

But I hope you enjoy TX guys. I have a few cousins in NW Houston, some right off Jones and Grant as a matter of fact. Yeah. They all like good buds but they greatly fear going green. I'm from TX but transplanted here in the 70's and worked with the Colorado movement for 20 years till we got Amendment 20 passed. I am proud and happy to be living free in Colorado. TX was my year of fear. I'm glad you young guys are around and still workin to change texas. Good luck with that.

Merry Christmas and Happy 2010

Cheers to ya, you have to be loving Colorado. Its very beautiful there, I personally love the area around Telluride, Crested Butte, etc... Change here will come in time.

Anyway, Texas is a pretty cool place, we just have to fight for our rights and take the Republic back from the communists, the socialists, and the yankees....:)

I miss the actual stage work, playing to an audience, some of the travel, but I don't miss having to deal with agents, club managers, other comics stealing material, and the rest of the negative stuff... There's better things in life than being in that circus although I wouldn't trade the experiences for anything.

However, life moves on and we all grow up. I'll send an email, coffee's on me.

Anyone else in the Houston area around? We need to expand our network of those who support the legalization/decriminalization, the interest in and support of God and nature's gift to us!

Hey TEXASGreen,

Hope all is well and not too cold during this wave of global warming we're having, supposed to be like 16 or 19 in Houston in the next 24 hours.

I swear at an intersection I saw a frozen bum with blue skin holding a sign with icecicles on it that said "will suck your exhaust pipe for warmth.":D

Hows Austin doing these days? Watching UT tonight? If you're ever in the H town area we'll have to meet up for a coffee.

Best wishes to ya!

I'm near Hwy 6 and I-10. Sounds like a nice little set up you have there Phunny. Have you considered lining the inside of the cabinet with some reflective mylar? I used to grow one in the closet of my old apartment. It's a relaxing hobby dont you think?

it really is, isn't it? there is just something really relaxing about coming home from work and pruning the crops. :stoned:

Maybe its the thc that you absorb through your fingers when you touch it that makes it so relaxing or the warm glow of the lights or its heavenly aroma. I swear its better than any rose I've ever smelled. Why bother with a Bonsai tree when you can prune some mj.

Hey what's up Phunnyman! Im in North West Houston, The Woodlands / Magnolia area actually. Thats really cool that you are a writer. I am a media developer (iPhone apps, websites, etc) and an aspiring movie maker. I am working on a local commercial right now and my friend and I are writing a short film.

I just recently saw this post or I would have responded earlier. Good to see more Houston folks on here.

just saying hey from austin! Just got back from flying to cali and getting my mmj recommendation. We need to get the movement rolling here. It's gonna take many small victories to make this happen here. We need to start somewhere, here is a good start. The powers that be here, need to see that they are missing out of the most ground based reality out there . The time has come, but yall know what we are up against here. Good things take time, this is a great thing! IT's called civil liberties and Freedom:s4::thumbsup::s4:

Just wanted everyone to know that there is a special Texas section:

Texas (TX) - Cannabis Forums Message Boards - Medical Marijuana, Cannabis Club, Dispensary, News (http://boards.cannabis.com/texas-tx/)

There is no link to get to it, so it might be hard to find.
