seems i was about to sign up here, but have already done so, long ago.

well, i feel i aughta introduce myself anyways.

after discovering cannabis for myself, i spent over half a decade and a bit as an active cannabis activist, and at the final peak of it, came out with my real name, and helped get cannabis brought to the attention of the public in the 2005 general election (tho it wasnt me personally who was standing). could have done better, but we didnt know how much we could stick our necks out without getting our heads knocked off by some ignorant knuckle head who'd been swallowing prohibitionist propaganda for the past few decades.

i'm around on other cannabis forums as Digit. most prominently i was on grasscity.com for almost 8 years, and for over 8000 posts. i got kicked off because... well, its long and complicated, but what i think it boils down to was that i had been misinterpreted by some mod who wasnt very inteligent, he thought i was racist, got his other mod friend, the two conspired, got me a temp ban, i came back after the temp ban with a real martyr head on, made things worse for myself and after a long battle with the mods & admins, they long entrenched in the corrupting power, and me long entrenched in anti-authoritarianism, the result was inevitable.

so like i said, i'm on other cannabis forums all around (was a real pity when overgrow went down, but with their tagline, u can see why it happened), but am finding i'm likely to get in similar troubles at most of them, because their rules are too narrow a constraint for my freedom of expression.

i'm not a rude obnoxious little kit who can only string a sentence together if it has the words "gay", "fag" or "douche" in it, but i dont like the disgusting censorship creeping over the net steeling out freedom of speech.

so thats why i'm here. i'm cruising around, looking for somewhere that an inteligent discussion can be had, without mods telling me off for posting links to outside sites, or telling me i cant say something.

frankly, i think if a forum is to censor the crap to maintain the quality of content on their site, they should use the model which still keeps whats been censored, but you have to click it to expand the post, this way, the crap is kept out of the way, no one's freedom of speech is really being infringed upon and all users can check up on what is being censored. it adds a level of trust and accountability that's missing from most forums.

anyways, i dont mean to come here like i'm griping or got some axe to grind... i just dont want to go through the same crap i did with grasscity again, where i invest hundreds of thousands of words, make loads of friends, then loose it all because of what one stupid misunderstanding sparks off.

freedom of speech is a very important issue. its one of those issues that without it, we have nothing.

i remember the day when the internet was all about freedom of speech, it was the great liberator.

i think we should make efforts to ensure we keep that.

anyways....

HI! I'm Digit! (or siljrath... seems five letter names are unacceptable here.)

it's nice to be a part of cannabis forums... i seem to recall cannabis.com was the first cannabis related site i ever visited in my life, so perhaps it's fitting i come back here.

if there's mods or admins who think i'm going to be trouble, and have their hawk eyes on me, then perhaps this isnt the place i'm looking for. i tried looking around for some forum rules around here, but didnt see them... feel free to point em out to me, n then i can decide if i want to share all the links and information i have with cannabis.com or go somewhere else.

if you read all that.... wow. thats all i can say. wow. i didnt think there were many "readers" left. (n if u picked that up as a bill hicks reference, all the better!!!)

cheers dudes.
:D

PS, true to my old style... i'll chuck a poll on this thread. :D

From what I've seen, there's not really much moderation or censorship here. I've only been here almost two months though, so my view is limited.

As long as you aren't being a complete dick it's all good but I'd say keep the same self-moderation you do with normal friends and family. Just because we're strangers sitting behind keyboards and monitors doesn't mean someone can just say whatever the hell they feel like at any time, I'd hope people have more self-respect than that!

I trust in the karma system, not just the little green bars that say I'm awesome :rasta:, and hopefully others do as well because the world would be a better place if people would just be nice (If you don't have anything nice to say...) and learn to respect those around them as well as their own self-image.

Anyways, welcome back & I look forward to reading what you have to contribute!

yay.

i'll step forth in confidence then, that i wont be chastised for merely stating a political viewpoint (no, i'm not racist in the slightest, incase u were wondering from my last post), or for posting a link. ^_^

It's all good man, people get defensive when their core values & beliefs get challenged so I generally stay away from political & religious type discussions myself. Hope you have as good an experience here as I have!

welcome back. i voted B because it seemed to be in italics.

this board works on the honor system, mostly . . mostly. :stoned: :D just ask yourself . . . "what would Herby post?" and keep in mind you only have 10 minutes to change your mind. so, for example, you felt the need to share, i don't know . . . say maybe something you did one time for Coke or something . . :what: well, you might just want to skip that . . . (don't ask its not related to anything you posted, i swear) :D

general rules, don't try to get "hooked up" and no personal attacks on other members. this forum is fairly un-pc but most of us still try to have a little respect for all people. :twocents: a little . . :rastasmoke:

^ not that i was suggesting you were looking for a hookup or anything, that is just one thing I do remember seeing mods step in for on here. (as they should) other than that it can be a free for all on here but its all cool. :smokin: enjoy.

and stay on topic :stoned: just kidding, hey redtails, are you really in DC? are they really going to have med use there?????? :smokin:
