View Full Version : Marijuana and Consistent Vomiting: Solutions?

My friend tried smoking twice, coughed pretty heavily, got nauseous, and ended up throwing up in the bathroom both times. We thought this was pretty bizarre and must be caused by the smoking process, so we tried baking cookies. I thought this would surely work for her, but it left her feeling horribly nauseous as well (on the verge of throwing up).
Can somebody just be allergic to marijuana? This was all over a year ago, and we are lightly discussing trying it again, but I just don't understand what could cause her to have such a reaction to a drug that is supposed to have the opposite effect, and I am unable to find much information on the subject online (except for FOX News telling me Marijuana causes severe vomiting syndrome).
Thanks.

Greetings ThomasPaine,
I'm glad you decided to ask for more information!
I like to visit this website to help answer a lot of questions some people bring up:
Marijuana Cannabis Index Of Information (http://www.thegooddrugsguide.com/cannabis/index.htm)
Within this website, under the faq's section (Find it in the link column on the left):
Fact #12 pertains to someone asking whether or not their fiance is going to have a reaction to Cannabis while they're over in Amsterdam because he's never smoked before, and their reply was:
"Your fiance shouldn't have any allergy problems with eaten cannabis. However, if he hasn't ever taken cannabis before, BE VERY CAREFUL about feeding him hash cakes. Dutch cannabis is very strong and eating cannabis triples the effect (see cannabis effects (http://www.thegooddrugsguide.com/cannabis/effects.htm)). It could be very disconcerting for him if he's never been stoned."
In addition, under Fact #13, Cannabis Allergy in general is discussed, and their answer was:
"It is possible to be allergic to marijuana although the active ingredient, THC, is endowed with some moderate anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic properties. There has been little study in this area. It may be that other elements in the smoke, especially if you mix with tobacco, are causing your reaction. If you can, try smoking through a vaporizer (which significantly decreases the amount of toxic smoke-based compounds) and see if that produces the same effect. If it does, then you probably are allergic to marijuana."
Also, something I thought of when I first pondered your question was that if he has a skeptical perspective about Cannabis, then there might be some sort of sub-conscious psychology thing that just makes him throw up because, sub-consciously (or maybe even consciously, I don't know him) he doesn't WANT to like Cannabis.
These are just some thoughts. As far as what I think you should do about it, here are some suggestions from someone who has smoked tons of people up :D:
1.) Vaporizers are awesome and are definitely worth a shot. I also have no doubts that you won't have a hard time finding one in Amsterdam
2.) If you're going to smoke him up, make sure that when you two hit the piece, you both just take really small hits (ones you can't feel but you know are still there) so that the lungs don't react and cause uncontrollable convulsion.
3.) Be careful with your baking/cooking because if he's never been stoned before and you make something regular strength, you're going to freak him out!
4.) FOX News is a joke. Don't listen to what they tell you. You don't want to be running your nose all over their muddy underwear!
I hope this was helpful for you!

A lot Mexican Cannabis is quality. However, it is a futile argument to try and say that all product brought in by Mexican Drug Cartels is legit. I guess I assumed that they were smoking decent herb, but I guess you can't make assumptions!

Some genotypes cause more gastritis (stomach inflammation) more than others. This can cause nausea.
Allergy. It is always possible to be allergic to something, but usually a person has to develop an exposure to the toxin before they develop the allergy.
Some medications do not work right in some folks, as an example, I used to take a medication to prevent angina and heart palpitations. It did the exact opposite and caused those things to be much worse.
So, it could just be your friends bio-diversity.
