Hello everyone, recently my 18 yr old daughter has been diagnosed with epilepsy. Im not a smoker because I happen not to like it. I have no moral issue with it. Going on just the facts I believe it should be legal period. Especially for medical use. My daughter is all vegan all organic and we both feel the traditional epilepsy meds are not too safe. I have open mindedly examined the medical use of marijuana for treating epilepsy and the general safety of marijuana. I feel its the safest and best treeatment for her. But I live in pa. What can I do as a mother ans citizen to help in the legalization for medical use marijuana? Thanks in advance

Welcome! The easiest thing to do would be contact your representative & senator. Look around the site a bit, there might be some basic letters & info that you can copy from while doing yours. Make sure that the person you contact is for your district though, others will usually not even read your letter/email or take your call because you are not their constituent. Also look up your local NORML chapter, they can be an invaluable resource. Good luck, & I hope your daughter is able to manage this safely and effectively with MMJ.

Redtails, Thanks for your reply. I will go on the NORML website. I wasnt aware that 13 states are allowing mmj. I also read today that pa is introducing a bill for mmj. The thought of my daughter on those heavy anti-seizure meds is terrifying. One of the possible side effects is suicide. Suicide.
Another is possible liver damage. Thanks again!

That's how the drug companies make their money! Give you ineffective meds with bad side-effects then they can give you meds to control the side-effects...All in the name of the almighty $. They're the main reason anymore why marijuana isn't legal yet.

Thanks in advancehere are many forms of epilepsy,i have 30 years experience in epilepsy,my sister is a grand mall epileptic and i know can be dangerous to smoke the weed .depending on medication she is on,that is the big factor what is she taking already,to slow her brain, heart etc etc,It didnt work with my sister made her very ill,she is grand mall epileptic though.Epilepsy has so much stigma attached still which is wrong as people are scared of it.as they dont know it
