400 watt hps and seedlings

i have a 400 watt hps is that to much for seedlings that just popped they seem
to be burning the not in a heat way but as in the light is just to much....
is this possible? i switched the back to the flo tubes and cfls for now i figured i
would wait a couple more weeks to see what happens

the room is 12 by 10 i am starting on a dresser right now then i will expand out

its better to keep the seedlings under the cfls for a few weeks like you've done for a few reason. Gets them ready for the stronger light, and prevents to much stretch. Its good to supplement a few flourescents in even when they are switched up to the hps to prevent stretching then too.

i have already noticed a difference in the seedlings after switching it to the flos and cfls thanks for the help guys
