Hey, im new here. I have a question though. I have ulcerative colitis and recently had a flare up(first one in 6 yrs) and now have a colonoscopy tomorrow. Today I am not allowed to eat any solid foods, ect. and have to drink alot of laxatives and such. I was wondering if it was ok to smoke today? I wont tomorrow before the procedure but was thinking it might be alright to do today. Although it says to stop all medication including "herbal medications" What do you guys think? thanks

Cannabis use prior to being put to sleep for surgery can cause your heart rate to drop very low, be carefull.

even if I just smoke the day before and not the actual day of procedure?

Yes the day before is to close to surgery. 2-3 days is ok.

I had out patient surgery once and they told me in recovery that my heart rate dropped to 32 beats per minute. The nurse was an old bitchy type and she said you must have smoked marijuana last night.

Damn thats not good. Well I ended up not smoking the night before, thanks for the advice not to. Everything went well and I smoked when the procedure was finished and doctors orders were to "rest and watch tv all day."
