View Full Version : Will Obama Legalize Marijuana?

The pubic is getting less ignorant about marijuana and once the news of how it has and will benefit California's economy becomes well known. This subject will come up in a lot of political conversations. This will probably be followed by backing for legalization or decriminalization. The question is will Obama have the bravery to support it? Would have McCain? Ganja Wise wants to know what you think? (http://ganjawise.com)

Obama is not gonna legalize marijuana. In my humble opinion I think he did a good thing when he said the FEDS will no longer prosecute medical marijuana dispensaries.....thus...giving the choice to the states. Am I right on that folks? Someone here will correct if Im worng. I think thats a cool thing.....states choice.
Im still waiting for him to repeal "dont ask dont tell" or make a bigger stand for basic gay marriage for heavens sake. My best friend and his hubby should be allowed to marry and adopt kids like everyone else!!!!

I don't have a problem with gays, but come on now people, a man and a WOMAN should be together, not 2 men. I mean how the fuck do you even get pleasure from a man if you're one too.. They will probably make up some type of disease that occurs when a man and another man fuck ass''s.

Obama wont legalize marijuana. Hes the first black president, if he were to be the first black president and the first president to legalize marijuana, naturally racist America would link the two and thus never elect black presidents again if whatever system he worked out for the legalization failed.

The international treaty does not allow any country to legalize cannabis without the say so of the WHO(world health organization) A few years back, they suggested cannabis be a schedule 4, until the U.S. jumped in claiming marinol (thc synthetic pill) is a schedule 3 and widely available to patients by prescription. WHAT A LYING JOKE.
My insurance refused to cover $1,200 a month for this unless I had cancer or aids and had only 6 months to live. I was only able to afford 3 months worth on my own. Then I got cut off by my doctor because I couldn't pay for it.
They got us all by the short hairs.

Who are you to decide who should and should not be married? Anyone who does not support gay marriage argues that they are not marrying for the right reasons. Yet they have NO problem when two 20 year olds get drunk, fuck, and then decide to marry because they screwed up. I fail to see how that is any different in terms of the value of marriage.
Like it or not, the oppression against gays is entirely based around hate. Obviously no one will admit it, but it is.
It just yet another thing in this world that is COMPLETE BULLSHIT. People should be able to do what they want if it has no ill effects on others. Unfortunately our "free country" doesn't allow freedom to choose your own medicine, who you love, and what you do in the privacy of your own home. :wtf:

What, are you worried you'll turn gay when the big bad gay monsters take over the world?
Puh-lease.

Like the man's signature says, never argue with an idiot. If he can't figure out which "there, their, or they're" to use, then he's insignificant.
He won't support blanket legalization. I do think that if states decide to legalize via ballot measure or legislation, he won't fight it. Go Oregon!

Ha! That was relatively clever, gold star. But in that context, its "on my account". Count was close. Keep trying, you'll be off the little bus soon.

It wouldn't happen... which is exactly my point. Why are you labeling gays as "life-o-phobes"? If this is your only basis for looking down upon them, shouldn't you be more concerned about murderers and rapists? THEY are the true "life-o-phobes", but unless they are taking it up the ass, you don't feel the need to comment.
Remember when I said this?

Well, it was brought up and It's a topic worth some discussion... but I mean if there was a choice to legalize weed or gay marriage, My choice would be weed all the way haha.
But you're right, we should stay on topic. Obama won't legalize weed, at least not until the last few months of his term. My guess would be more of a federal decriminalization.

That's a possibility, albeit a slight one. I really don't see any federal action on this for a decade at an absolute minimum. I really believe, though, that at least one state will legalize within 5 years. We're trying to this year in Oregon, through the Cannabis Tax Act. If there were a state that could do it, this is the one.

The DEA would have a field day lol...
I don't necessarily think that anything federal will happen either... but it would be SWEET. Plus decriminalization isn't a huge step from where we are... There are plenty of cities that have decriminalized within non-MMJ states (the one I live in for example) It's still pretty strict, but at least I can carry up to an eighth without worrying about prison time lol. It's like a hundred bucks and a slap on the wrist for that amount here.
Basically I just want to see SOMETHING happen.

Here I think its anything under an ounce, but they weigh the bag, too. You hear that everybody?! They weigh the bag, so take that into account before you go skipping down the street with your ganj.

Ralph Nader would have. Probably already by now.

I oppose marriage alltogether for anyone as far as the state is concerned. I feel that it creates a second-class single citizenry.

@crunksquirrel; I think you posted this to flame. You did not post this to help or to express an opinion. The reason I say this is, first you say you don't see how two men can get pleasure together, then you talk of anal intercourse. Sounds like you do know how two men would get pleasure from one another.
@Faddenator; I agree. Who is anyone to decide who should and should not be married? The government should get out of the marriage business. In fact, the government needs to get out of the business of social engineering altogether. The decision to get a formal marriage is the domain of the parties involved. I know there are a lot of legal issues involved and tied in with this, but these need to be worked out by the people involved. Courts are set up so people can find recourse for grievances.
Homosexuality personally does not appeal to me. I do find it quite revolting. But just because I find it revolting doesn't mean I have to be mean to gays. It doesn't mean I can't call a gay person friend, or laugh with them. It just means I am heterosexual. That's all.
People will have relationships of the type that best works for them. This aspect of people lives was here long before government, and will be here long after. I think if government would/could focus on issues that really matter, we would be better off.
Don't let flamers or others like that get you worked up. If you do, they win.
