Hey All, I have a strong business sense, starting capitol, and years of experience running and owning small businesses. My goal is to either find someone with something up and running, someone who wants to expand, or someone interested in getting something going. I am open as far as location, but prefer something north metro or north as far as Loveland. I am open to new ideas.
Thanks....

Thanks, that would be my first choice, but I want to do it right and be an asset to the community. Is it worthwhile to attend any of the local classes offered?
Thanks...

I wouldnt say that it isnt worth it but it seems that some of the seem to be very elemntry and its all stuff that you can find yourself on the net. I am the type that learns much more on my own than in a class so I might be biased.
What are some questions that you have I am sure that I can help.

I would agree with Feijao. I've been watching for any classes involving advanced hydroponics. However most all the classes are about growing in dirt. I have a green thumb and keep many house plants, so I'm sure I'd have no issues doing that. As many people here say,.. It is a weed.
I've been reading everything I can get my hands on lately involving growing hydroponic mmj. There is a tremendous amount of information (some conflicting of course :D). I have since given up on the classes idea.
I have been doing some odd jobs to afford equipment at this point. I've done my research into hydroponic systems, Lighting, temp/humidity, ventilation, and co2, still a bit skechy on nutes but that is a complicated area. All in all, I think I'll start in about a month or so without the co2, then add that after the first harvest. I may even expand to two rooms, as a number of friends have been asking because of the insane nothings many CGs offer.
I also need to decide on a strain still

I am pretty comfortable on the cultivation aspects. My questions are more along the lines of how you open. If I start off being a caregiver for 5 people, can I only maintain 10 ounces? How does a dispensary start off? I want to make sure my time is directed in the right way and avoid costly mistakes.

_____________
I am not endorsing this because I have no idea of its value and its got Rob Corry's name on it and he's stirred up much controversy outside of the MMJ movement.
I think you'll be alright if you start your own shop- just make sure everything's ready to go before you open doors. I've been to plenty new dispensaries that didn't know what they were a mess, but even those places are still in business. If you have the money and the business skills, you'll find a way to make it work. And if your hearts in the right place and you have great medicine at affordable prices, you will be an asset to the MMJ community.
Maybe find someone who owns a respectable dispensary and pay them to consult you...I dunno.
As far as the caregiver law...you may have 3 veg/3 flow for each signed patient. That number is supposed to double by spring of next year. I would suggest getting your operation going sooner rather than later before any more moratoriums go into effect. And another thing to consider is all of the new regs and proposals being mulled over.
I know a lot of people on here have access to great caregivers/vendors if you need them. Plenty of people looking for work too! Good luck!

Ah, well those seam to be "gray" areas.
From what I understand, a care giver can grow six plants per care receiver (three Vegging and three flowering). Although I guess there is a case currently waiting to be resolved where a doctor can prescribe 12 per person for persons eating and using it in food only, something like that. I'd guess I found it on this forum somewhere.
NEXT,.. Any overgrowth the care giver has can be legally sold to a dispensary. This too is a gray area. The amendment from what I understand only says the patient can only carry 2 ounces. It doesn't specify anywhere how much the care giver can have or carry. NOR does it say anything about a dispensary being legal at all!
Good news is,.. A guy in Boulder was caught with something like 1.5lbs he was selling to either legal patients or a dispensary. They took everything he had, but the jury returned it in the end with charges dropped. Again you'll need to look up the details but again I did read it here most likely.
I'd say at this point the only persons I've heard were actually charged and convicted were people going well outside the legal definitions. SUch as the recent lady who didn't know any of her "patients" at all!
Good news on dispensaries is this seams to be WHERE the state plans to collect their cut. So they are likely here to stay. Question will be how will they end up regulating them? The "moritorium" we hear about is basiclly just city red tape to try and stop them in that specific city. What I mean is the state WILL end up regulating who, how and where these places can be and how much tax they will be paying.
For now it's kinda up in the air.
