I had my appointment at MAMA (http://www.mamas.org/Clinics.htm) today at their Portland clinic to get my physical and everything went very smoothly.
I didn't have recent medical records so I opted to pay the physician fee instead of going around to all the doctors and collecting up the records (in my experience it has taken a minimum of six weeks for a doctor's office to send medical records to someone).
I just told them about the medical condition I have and we talked about the medications I have been taking for it. We decided that MM would be a better alternative to the medication I've been taking and the doctor recommended some other things to try as well (Yoga, acupuncture, massage and rolfing were mentioned).
I was then given a basic physical and some other paperwork to fill out.
At the end of the session the doc said she believed MM could benefit me in place of the other meds I have been taking for my condition, so she agreed to provide a recommendation and helped me set up an appointment for tomorrow morning for one of their wellness clinics.
Then they gave me a folder with my OMMP application and some paperwork for to fill out for MAMA.
Everyone was very courteous and professional.
I was in and out in about 20 minutes, including waiting to see the doc.
