it's cold where i live. too cold to smoke outside and i was wondering if the smell in the attic would transfer throughout the house. My house attic has insulation but my garage attic has none.
I'm really, really bored.

It depends, man. If there's a ventilated system (like a fan in the roof of the attic that pumps air out all day) you'd be fine, but if there's not, it's likely the air from the attic is sucked down into the house to where your AC/Heater is at (central air and heating only).
Basically, I'd say you're safe- just smoke up there late at night, and be ready for your dad to bust in with a bat thinking you're a robber.

i used to smoke in the attic it works so nice an attic is designed for air to flow out of the top in all houses so no one should smell the smoke and it take about 5 mins to clear out. Also some attics have windows which is nice go sit by the window and your all set

hmm... GOTTA TRY DAT!
My attic entrance is in my room. I will definately have to try that. Usually I wait until my parents are in bed and then I sit on my bed with the T.V. on low so they don't hear the clicking of my lighter, open my window 8-10 inches and smoke away. I make a point of blowing the smoke in the general direction of the window. When I finish I use a very small spray of spray on deodourant.
I also put a chair up against my door as I don't have a lock. If they try to come in I would simply tell them I was organizing my room and my chair was by my door. Since it would take me an all of 3 seconds to hide my stash and move the chair.

Smoke travels up, I doubt much of the smell will sink to the rest of the house or stick around very long.
I have smoked over skylights plenty of times with out windows open to flush the room with fresh air and in a few minutes all smoke and smell is gone. I highly recommend febreeze as well, if there is any smell febreeze should help take care of it.
If you're really paranoid fill a tube (pipe, toilet-paper tubes, water bottle with the bottom cut off...) with dryer sheets and exhale out a window with it.
